Loved this tour. Driving this road without our guide driving would have been nerve wracking. He made the tour. Very knowledgeable and could anticipate and plan for every curve and single lane. Both breakfast and lunch were included and worth the extra cost. Overall, my favorite part of our first trip to Maui
The driver/guide was knowledgeable and friendly. She gave us interesting info about the locals and sights, and was well versed in horticultural trivia. The custom van was comfortable and we could see and hear her speaking on the PA well. We didn't swim, nor did anyone else on our trip, as it was cool and rainy. The food was good and we would recommend it.
Wonderful! Breathtaking views! Rained a little but didn't spoil a thing.
The excursion was The Road to Hana on the island of Maui for Oct. 25, 2015. The tour was scheduled thru Viator, a company we have used with success on previous vacations. Our tour guide was Michael Devlin who works for Viator and Temptation Tours. We found Michael to be an excellent tour guide with a great personality. He had a tremendous knowledge of the many sites, the plants and trees, and history of the island. We never felt bored or hurried and had a very relaxing and enjoyable day. Even though it was a 8-9 hour tour, Michael kept our interest all through the tour with his never ending wealth of information. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone interested in going to Hana.
It was an early pick up but it was worth it! We had a wonderful tour! The van was very comfortable and got to know our fellow tourists. Right after the hotel pick up, we ate breakfast at Cafe Mambo. The Quinoa Bowl was the best! For lunch, we ate at Hana Hotel. The tour itself was very long yet pleasant. Though, I did not expect that Hana Road is full of zig zags! On the other hand, the scenic views were spectacular! We saw some black beaches, forests, waterfalls, and yummy fruits! I've posted some photos for everyone to look at!
It was very pleasant. Nice to have someone who knows the road to Hana driving so that the passengers can spend their time looking at the scenery. There was only one other couple in the van with us. The driver was knew his Hawaiian history and was most informative. The picnic lunch was great for the occasion.
We had a wonderful time from start to finish. Our tour guide was great, full of information and did all that we wanted. We were the only 4 on the tour so it was made very personable and customer to our wants , needs and interests. The restaurants for breakfast and lunch were wonderful. food was delicious. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Our tour guide was phenomenal----a walking encyclopedia of information on Hawaii ---it's history, peoples, changing landscapes, businesses, local attractions and economics.
Awesome day trip. Z was a terrific tour guide, very knowledgeable and great driver. Bring a bathing suit and towel for a little swimming. Leave the driving to your guide it is well worth it!
Tour was great. Helicopter back was wonderful and we got to see everything from above. Our driver was very good....lots of info and went at a nice pace. Enjoyed the beaches and flower farm.
The only way to do this tour--the luxury version! Small van means more opportunities to see things, excellent food options! Perfect!!
This is a small group tour, only 8 fit into a luxury small van. We lucked out our family of 4 were the only people on the van - so a private tour! Great driver, the only way to see the road to Hana. If you are the only people in the car the tour can be a bit customized for you -- which is a real treat. They hit all the high points and a few hidden gems. Includes a light breakfast and a great lunch with really good, organic food - picnic style in a beautiful bay near the water. What more could you ask for!!
Our experience was enhanced by only my wife, myself and Sean, our guide and driver, being on the tour. Sean was great in showing us those added little-known points of interest that cannot be seen when a larger group is involved. Because our group was only ourselves, we were able to take time to enjoy each site and actually get to more sites than a larger group could have done. Sean was able to provide us with all sorts of details to make this adventure more intriguing. LOVED IT!
My sisters, niece and I went on this tour and I highly recommend it. Our guide, Surfer Sue, knows so much! She shared insights on local current events, island history, and the foliage and landmarks along the way. She was very funny and took us to a lot of little interesting stops. Even though we were running a bit late, Sue took the time to take my niece to the watering hole so she could swim. This was a great way for all of us to enjoy so much of the island in comfort.
Outstanding! A must for anyone needing a break from laying out by the pool.
A long day but beautiful scenic drive. Guide, Surfer Sue, was very knowledgable about area: history, plants, geography, etc. We had a nice light breakfast at a beautiful beach and lunch at another. Really enjoyed the small group, there were 6 of us, as I was traveling alone. Easy atmosphere for visiting.
The tour was awesome.Michael, the tour guide was so professional, friendly and knowledgeable about almost everything about Hawaii and its people.Questions were asked a lot of times about Hana and other things about Maui and he answered them all with patience. He truly loves what he is doing and it shows. The van si comfortable.
The small group gave more if a personal touch, interaction amount the group was great, it gave you the sense almost as if you were given a private tour of Maui
This was a great tour. Our driver was excellent and made this winding road very relaxing. We made many stops to see waterfalls, swim and to look at the beauty of the landscape. I was worried about the lunch because I read a bad review, however I thought the lunch was fine. It was fresh ans tasty. I appreciated that it was pretty healthy. I would definitely take this tour again. I only wish my Haleakala tour was with the same tour company. Small group tours are the best way to see Maui.
Small group travel is the only way to go. Our van and driver (Wayne) were truly first class. We were able to stop in places the large tours could not. This created better photo ops and a more intimate tour. Our snack and lunch were first rate as well. You will not be disappointed.
Great tour, really relaxed. Our guide Jay knew so much and gave a great story to go with our journey along the road to Hana- the swimming under the waterfall was just magical! This is a must do trip- you won't regret it!
We enjoyed this tour with its beautiful scenery and waterfalls. Unfortunately it rained quite a bit during our tour. The van was comfortable and the guide was knowledgeable.
