I did the two day tour and was especially impressed with the second day. Our tour guide was Marty and he has so much knowledge about the area. Had a great time at the Apostles where you have the option of doing the helicopter ride - this is awesome! Thanks so much!!
It was a great trip, we had loads of fun. Our driver was lovely and knew tons of info. So we were booked onto the 2day tour and when i booked and confirmed this i was told your driver will drop you off @ your hotel and pick you up again next morning. However, our driver was not aware of this fact and by the time we realised he was not aware it was too late for us to be dropped off at the hotel and we had to continue on the 1day tour. To be fair he was very apologetic and we got refunded the extra money for 2day trip, but we were so disapointed we had been looking forward to the trip and staying in the hotel. The sights were all great, some fab photo opportunites. We did feel a bit rushed though, it would have been nice to spend a bit longer @ some of the sights but i guess that is one of the disadvantages of an organised tour. Great ocean road is an amazing place, it is defintely worth a visit. we had a lot of fun, great day out overall.
Don't do the 2day tour, day trip's itinerary almost the same. charged much more to stay a night in a quiet town with no public transport to see surrounding. Back seats in bus uncomfortable, bt drivers friendliness and enthusiasm made up for it. Most staff very accomodating. Rushed, bt most tours are
I booked this trip for my parents visiting from Ireland, I presumed with this trip being a lot more expensive than other tours along the great ocean road that the quality of service would be better, unfortunately not. The company were very unorganised, my parents were due to get off at Lorne on the first day but the bus driver did not realise that and he drove an hour past Lorne and had to drive back which was unfortunate for the other passengers. When they got to the hotel in Lorne the hotel had no record of the them being booked in for that night, which caused major panic for my parents and an nearly 45 minutes of me on the phone to some over seas call centre to try get it sorted. I paid the extra money as my parents are elderly and I thought mishaps like that would not happen on a tour like this.
However, overlooking those mishaps and the unnecessary stress, they did thoroughly enjoy the tour, they loved Lorne and thought the hotel was fabulous, they said the driver was very informative and they learned so much, they got to hold beautiful birds and see the some amazing scenery.
