Great Ocean Road Small-Group Eco-Tour from Melbourne

Great Ocean Road Small-Group Eco-Tour from Melbourne

Spend a full day exploring the natural wonders of Australia’s Great Ocean Road. Your guide will pick you up at your Melbourne hotel in a comfortable, high-tech minicoach, where you’ll join just a handful of other passengers for personalized, small-group experience. Onboard narration is available in 13 different languages through specially equipped iPods.
The Great Ocean Road officially begins at Torquay, a famous surf town of gorgeous, sandy beaches. Stop at a beachside location before continuing through several charming port towns before stopping at Kennett River. This lovely eco-park is one of the best spots in Victoria to observe wild koalas.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant in the scenic town of Apollo Bay, and have a swim along its crescent- shaped beach. Next up, wander among the greenery of Great Otway National Park, which boasts ancient trees among a semitropical forest.

The coastal landscape comes to a dramatic climax at Port Campbell National Park, where you can gawk at the Twelve Apostles — a grouping of massive limestone pillars that rise up out of the ocean. With an optional upgrade, you can take a 15-minute helicopter ride for unforgettable aerial views of this jaw-dropping coastline.

The rugged cliffs along the Great Ocean Road once made for perilous navigation for vessels sailing into the port of Melbourne. Hear the tragic tales of Australia’s ‘Shipwreck Coast’ and visit Loch Ard Gorge, the postcard-worthy site of a notorious 1878 shipwreck.

Finally, view the Gibson's Steps for a dramatic example of the power of erosion. Take in the incredible cliff line and offshore stacks before continuing on your drive back to Melbourne.

Stop for dinner (own expense) on the approximately 3-hour return drive to Melbourne. Relax on the ride back to your hotel, or share snapshots of the day with family and friends using the coach’s free onboard Wi-Fi.

our tour guide from gowest, Travis is the best tour guide I had from my other's day tours I have signed up through Viator.com. Helpful, humorous, knowledgeable, spontaneous during the trip. He knew and remembered every one of our names and made a lot fun in the small and cosy van. I love this trip very much but whether seems to be like not perfectly good because was having strong wind on that day. anyway, highly recommend my friends to sign up for the day tour . I might not get any tour guide like Travis but I heard a lot good feedback/comments during my stay in Melbourne. GoWest, keep it up and continue to shine as a best tour agent in Melbourne and Australia.

This was without a doubt the best tour I've ever been on. The scenary was amazing and we stopped plenty of times to take great photos along the way. We also saw wild koalas and kangaroos during the trip. Our driver was absolutely great, unfortunately I forgot her name.

Had the best time, great views, wish I could stay longer at each stop-which is a good sign!
Would recommend having a better place to stop for dinner, or maybe simple sandwiches on the bus, but no complaints! Amazing tour guide and drive, loved seeing the wildlife and the 12 apostles.

Absolutely beautiful, one gorgeous scene after another. Our guide, Paul, willingly and humorously shared information and tidbits on the views and history. The only improvement I would have liked is more seat room.

Peter our driver/guide was superb. The places we visited - Apostles, Otway Range National Park, koalas at Kennett were excellent. Morning tea, lunch, good breaks well timed. All perfect. Weather disgusting! But who cares when all the rest was so good.

Tour Guide Allan was pleasant, helpful and very knowledgeable. Although it rained, it was still a very pleasant trip and we are recommending it to family and friends.

We initially had some concerns since we were travelling with a 4 year old and a 7 month old. But the minivan is very comfortable with frequent stops and comfortable seats. The guide Peter was a very lively and knowledgeable and at no point made us feel rushed. Highly recommended.

This was an awesome tour. It was a long day with all the hotel pick-ups and drop-offs on top of the drive, but our tour guide Peter did an outstanding job of keeping the group engaged and entertained. There were lots of stops and opportunities to get out and walk. The scenery was fantastic, very diverse along the three sections of the Great Ocean Road. We added the helicopter ride and it was well worth it.

It was a wonderful experience viewing such beautiful sights. WE had Callum, a really experienced guide who told us many things along the way! He introduced many new things to everyone and was really friendly. I felt like the tour group became a bunch of friends at the end of the day. However, the lunch was ok, I wouldn't say it was bad or good. Just edible. We had the thai? food. Other than that, the tour was perfect. I would really like to go back there again!
