My wife and I together with another couple, all from Melbourne suburbs, took the ferry cruise to Williamstown and back on a day when the weather was perfect. The ferry tour was very exciting and the commentary each way was excellent. The service was of very high standard and we thank you for the fun day. At Williamstown we did a guided tour which lasted about one hour and that also was first class.
It was very nice and lovely experience. We saw warts of the town that you are not able to see when driving...
We had a very enjoyable time on the ferry cruise to Williamstown and the guy who took us was very entertaining and very knowledgable. It was my hubby's 70th birthday and he had a ball! My nephew and partner came from NZ a couple of weeks ago and did the same cruise and was very impressed. Thank you again.
my 2 grandchildren and myself were standing in the wrong plc waiting for the ferry when we found out and ran for the proper one which was just leaving the captain brought the ferry back to the pier,it was a very relaxing trip, thank you
my husband and myself had a very enjoyable cruise around Melbourne, the staff were also very nice, would recommend this trip to any one, well worth the money and will do again
Had a great time. Watch out for high tide making the return journey a bit hair raising! Those bridges sure are low to the water.
Ticketing so easy on-line. Departure point easily recognised and signed. Return trip was smooth and interesting. Even the coffee wasn't too bad. Ferry staff attentive, informative and good guys. All in all an enjoyable day.
my husband and i had a lovely trip we would definately do it again. the staff were excellent and the ferry was very clean
The trip was a most enjoyable one and would recommend it. Also we look forward to doing it again!
Williamstown is a small town but with lovely restaurants and quaint craft and collectable shops. Unfortunately some of the attractions were only open at the weekends (not mentioned in the brochure) and the ball tower hadn't been in use for nearly 30 years! The ferry timetable listed the ferries leaving Williamstown every hour but when we tried to book on the 2.30pm return we were told that the next ferry was at 3.30pm. That aside we had a lovely day out and it is always interesting to see a city from a different perspective (in this case from the Yarra River).
Great place and good way to get there. The young skipper's speaking voice needs some work
The boat was clean and comfortable, the commentary was entertaining, and I learned some interesting facts about my hometown. When I booked I made a couple of phone calls for confirmation, and the operators were courteous and helpful.
Most enjoyable trip. Very informative for both locals and national/international travellers.
We thoroughly enjoyed the trip! It was highly informative and very relaxing
Three adults and four children ranging from 17months to 8 yrs of age travelled from Williamstown to Southbank. We walked about, had lunch and were ready for a 2:30pm departure. Unfortunately this was delayed but our four kids settled and made it a pleasant ride back for the adults. We had a most enjoyable day and apart from having to take responsibility for getting the fold-up pram on and off the ferry as well as monitoring the kids on and off at the same time, the staff were friendly, relaxed and competent.
I enjoyed the round trip to Williamstown and would recommend it to locals, or visitors.
We both enjoyed the trip and we had the best fish and chips we have ever had at Mornington Peninsula. Would reccommend that day to anyone.
THE WEATHER WAS GREAT AND WAS A GREAT TRIP TO AND FROM WILLIAMSTOWN - Ron and Judy
The trip to Williamstown on a hot Tuesday was most enjoyable. Our captain was informative and funny and we learned more about our own capital city's history while we enjoyed the different views from the Yarra River. The long boat was spacious, amenities clean and coffee and tea available for passengers. Our return trip was less comfortable with a much smaller boat and full to capacity. Because of the heat of the day it wasn't the most pleasant trip. Still on the whole would I recommend the trip? -Absolutely. Williamstown is a quaint historical town and worth revisiting. It was easy booking with Viator - and I am a first time user - the information about the trip was excellent, booking and payment easy. A suggestion for those who aren't familiar with Southgate would be to improve the map. I had to Google Berth 5 to get a clearer picture. Parking is also available at Crown for $6.00 and while it is a bit of a walk, it was quite pleasant along Southbank.
Although the cruise was postponed due to bad weather on Nov. 26, we were able to make the trip on Monday Nov. 28. We had a wonderful time as the Captain was not only informative but also very entertaining. It was a good way to end our first trip to Melbourne before we return home that day. We mainly enjoyed our recent ferry cruise, but we were a little disappointed that there was no tea/coffee provided as we thought there would be. Also the ferry broke down on our return journey and we had been waiting for over 15 mins until we were notified. We got another ferry back from another company as we would have had to wait for nearly 2 hours' until the next ferry departed, however we had no trouble at all getting a refund for the $20.00 we had to pay to the other company, and we were very impressed with that.
nice trip down the river. not much to do in williams town but was quite relaxing.
