We loved the trip to see the birds, travelling through the Dandenong Ranges, having lunch at the winery! It was a great day. The Puffing Billy trip I felt could have been a bit longer but was still worth it. The only bad thing about the day was the tour bus driver who obviously liked the sound of his own voice and was very snappy at anyone who asked a simple question which had everyone on the bus afraid to ask anything for fear of having their head bitten off.

Would have liked to spend more time at Puffing Billy. The trip was too short.

The tour itself was pleasant. However, the coach driver tour guide made the tour a bit painful for ourselves and the British tourists in front of us. He said everything three or four times, and talked to the passengers in a childlike manner. The wildlife sanctuary was good, but we were not informed at the outset that the main attraction the birds of prey were not operating on that day. This would have influenced our decision to go on the tour, and we may have chosen something different.

Most of the trip was very enjoyable but was spoiled for me because of the morning 'tea and lamingtons' stop. This scheduled stop was in an area where dozens of parrots and cockatoos were flying around and landing on folks heads and shoulders. The coach driver provided seed for passengers to feed the birds and even provided band-aids for those who were subsequently bitten!! I would not have booked this trip had I known about the wild birds, however some may find this a highlight as others on the coach thought.
