Great tour with a great guide. Going early meaning that arriving before all other tourists and not soo hot was great. Thanks
Fabulous , amazing sights and commentary. Nice small tour group as well
Early morning tour was great! No lines at the pyramids and in the Mexican heat- a blessing!!
Everything about my tour was on-point!! Prompt pick up, great/informative tour guide, and I meet some terrific people! I would gladly recommend this tour to anyone I know…
Excellent tour;I would book it again. Arriving early really allowed a chance to see the complex with smaller crowds. Also, I had two younger children with me and our tour guide was patient and friendly to them.
Alejandro was a great guide, full of great information and historical knowledge - thank you!! Early morning is the perfect way to see the pyramids. It's quiet and serene and cool! We never felt rushed and in fact were left to climb the pyramids on our own which was quite fun and more strenuous than it first appeared. The steps are very short and steep which made for a great workout! Afterward, we stopped off for some tequila tasting (the coffee tequila was the best), a little shopping and then lunch (buffet) which my fellow travelers liked (I'm not a big Mexican food fan). All-in-all a really enjoyable day! And they were very prompt picking us up at 6:15 in the morning. Enjoy!
We are experienced, independent travellers and thought about just catching a bus out there and ‘doing’ Teotihuacán by ourselves – so glad we didn’t. This was a small tour – just seven plus our guide Lygia and driver Moses – and early (they collected us at our hotel at 6.30am) so we arrived fresh, well ahead of the heat and the crowds. Lygia is a fund of insights into the history and archeology, and there’s a lot to take in – thankfully she gave it to us in bite-size chunks so we weren’t overloaded. We walked up and down the whole site, including the Temple of Quetzalcoatl with its wonderful plumbed serpents (think DH Lawrence …) - I believe this is not on all the tours? And the famous pyramids of the Sun and Moon are simply stunning. It’s a strenuous day – those steps are high and steep and there are about a million of them – at an altitude of just under 8,000 ft. We were more than ready for lunch and a cerveza by midday when we stopped at a tequila factory for the obligatory talk and tasting of tequila, mescal and pulque, as well as obsidian crafts – no pressure to buy – and then a pleasant buffet of Mexican salads and hot dishes. We dozed on the trip back to DF and were happy to get dropped off at the Zocalo, thus saving a taxi fare from our hotel. Lygia is an excellent guide – knowledgeable, fluent and funny, and she even helped us get to grips with those tongue-twister names. A wonderful experience.
We really enjoyed our knowledgable guide, fantastic early morning scenery and an amazing tour of the artisans and lunch. We will definitely go again!!!
Leaving early in the morning was beautiful driving through the city in with very little traffic, arriving at the pyramids and seeing all of the air balloons floating in the sky added to experience. Our guide was very informative and added to the overall adventure. Climbing the pyramids felt like floating above the world. I was so happy with the tour we are booking another trip from Cancun to Chichen Itza with my family.
I believe it is really good option as when we came to the site was really quite and not many people were there so we had time to walk easily. Tour was nice and wort recommandation.
Very good tour. Pickup bus arrived on time, entertaining, friendly and informative guide. Interesting tour. Nice buffet lunch included. Early start meant missing the crowds, even on a weekday. Range of souvenirs available but not pushy. Tequila tasting was good too. Returned to hotel at reasonable time. Highly recommended.
The guide was very good and professional. The tour was just amazing. We had been there before but wanted to take a tour this time around to learn more. Not only did we learned about the pyramids, but the guide also explained lots of things in the city!!
Our tour to Teotihuacan was one of the highlights of our stay in Mexico City. The temples at Teotihuacan were breathtaking and the stories behind them fascinating. When we climbed to the top of the temple of the sun to view the whole area and we realized just how massive this ancient city was and what life might have been like for its citizens. Our tour was well organized, the group size small and our tour guide was friendly and knowledgable. We would highly recommend a Viator tour to anyone visiting this area.
We had an excellent time. Alejandro was a kind, knowledgable, and entertaining host from start to finish. The van was safe and safely driven. Our seat belts worked, which is not something we can say for the taxis we've been in this week.
We learned a lot about the history and the culture (what is known, what is not), the structures, and more. We asked a lot of questions about modern Mexican life and Mexico City, and he had a lot to share there, as well, including on the drive out to the site. Alejandro has a fun and practical perspective.
Going early in the morning was wonderful. It was cool at first, but warmed up quickly, and being some of the very first people on the site, we definitely beat the crowds.
There was plenty of time, without being excessive, for climbing both pyramids and touring the grounds.
You will be taken to a gift shop/restaurant afterwards. We really enjoyed it -- they gave some informational demos of how their goods are made. We had no idea how much the agave plant provided! Sure, they do it also to help sell their goods, but we enjoyed it a lot. They also gave us tastings of over 5 liquers and liquors, one or two of which seemed very unique to us We didn't think it was too much time at the shop/restaurant -- about an hour, including lunch at the buffet -- so just be aware of it. The food was fine.
We were back at our hotel sometime between 2pm and 3pm.
