What You Can Expect
Teotihuacan Pyramids Hot-Air Balloon Tour
That first moment when your hot-air balloon leaves the ground is unforgettable. Each voyage becomes a personal adventure as you sail effortlessly through the sky, becoming the envy of all earthbound spectators as you enjoy panoramic views of Mexico's spectacular landscapes.
Flight duration is approximately one hour and the exact route is dictated by wind patterns. A four-wheel drive vehicle will follow below at all times, communicated by radio. After landing, the vehicle will take you to the meeting point where you'll celebrate with a glass of wine and a flight certificate, a valuable reminder of the once-in-a-lifetime experience you have just enjoyed.
If the optional guided Teotihuacan tour is selected, you'll continue to the famous archeological site to see the pyramids up close. Some must-see landmarks include the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon, the Temple of Quetzalpapalotl and the Avenue of the Dead.
Only 31 miles (50km) northeast of Mexico City are the archeological vestiges of the city of Teotihuacan itself, as well as myriad remnants of fine pottery from Teotihuacan which are today exhibited around the world.

Amazing! Everything was perfect! Tour guide was right on time picking us up and was so informative. Everyone at the hot air balloon facility was professional and the ride was beautiful. Buffet breakfast was perfect and they went out of the way to make this a special birthday:-)

As part of a three-week trip throughout central Mexico, we signed up for the Teotihuacan Pyramids Hot-Air Balloon Tour to celebrate my husband's birthday. A couple of friends also joined us and we all agreed that the hot-air balloon ride was the highlight of our entire trip!
The guide picked us up at the exact time we were told he would arrive at our hotel, he was friendly and knowledgeable and spoke good English and other than having to get up so early, the day was a tremendous success!
After the hot-air balloon ride, we were treated to a very good and very complete Mexican breakfast in a lovely courtyard on the hot-air balloon grounds. Then, we took a quick trip to a silver and obsidian shop and then on to see the pyramids by land.
Having had such a great view of them from up above, we were less interested or inclined to walk up the stairs to stand on the top of the pyramid. We would recommend this tour to anyone who would love to see the pyramids and be a little lazy doing it, too! It's amazing how the perspective changes from up above and how you can see so much more of the layout of the various pyramids when you are above them, looking down! Not to mention that the site of the other beautiful hot-air balloons in the vicinity made for some great photos!
