Have another drink-just make sure you buy something

November 2012

Everywhere you go in Mexico City the people are very warm and friendly. Also, to warm you up for the sale they offer beer, tequila and of course tacos. They are very funny and have wonderful hearts. They are very giving. We often saw our guide, buying little things from the needy on the street.

The beginning of the tour in the heart of Mexico City

November 2012

Mexico City was built on and now over a lake. The Aztecs saw a sign of the Eagle eating the Snake and built their temples and city around 1315 AD. Then in 1521 AD Hernan Cortez and Spain conquered Mexico City and tore down the Pyramids and built Roman Catholic Churches. Any who did not join died.

The Ecological Center of Teotihuacan

November 2012

We stopped off at the Ecological Center first before going to the Pyramids and had lunch there. They make hand made rugs and cloths out of the Century Cactus. Also they make all kinds of medicines as well as Alcoholic drinks. A very nice shop with high quality goods. The guide here was fun.

The Square outside the Shrine

November 2012

Lots of folks in Mexico City, around 12 million in the city center and around 22 million in the surrounding area. With any of these tours be patient and don't expect to get anywhere very fast. Life and pace is always moving but not as efficiently as you might want it.

Up on the Pyramid

November 2012

Lots of folks climbing the Pyramids-take your time. Kids from school as well all dressed up in their uniforms.

Our Lady Of Guadalupe-Shrine

November 2012

The Shrine is nice, the shop we stopped at before has a lot of good stuff. Lots and lots of Mexican folks come in from all over for pilgrimage. The square outside was big and magnificent.

Teotihuacan Ecological Preserve

November 2012

Hand made cloth out of the Century Plant from the Ecological Center at Teotihuacan. They dye with various vegetable oils. They also make various alcoholic beverages from the Cactus plant, i.e., Tequila, Mescal, and other medicinal drinks. The gentleman giving the explanations here was really fun.
