Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in Miami

Little Havana Food and Walking Tour in Miami

This 2-hour walking food tour begins at the Agustin Gainza Arts and Studio in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. After a meet and greet with the guide, it’s time for a flavorful and fun adventure.

Visit six family owned and operated Cuban restaurants to sample the fresh flavors of the local cuisine. The Calle Ocho area of Little Havana provides an overview of the neighborhood’s traditional flavors — favorites like homemade mamey and flan ice cream, chicken- and picadillo-stuffed plantain cups, guava pastelito, plus coffee, guarapo juice and much more. Many of the Cuban dishes are prepared from family recipes that have been handed down from one generation to another.

This tour includes more than just food, however. Meet some of the Cuban artists in their studios, listen to some traditional Cuban music and watch skilled Cuban cigar rollers at the El Credito Cigar Factory. Also, visit Maximo Gomez Domino Park, a landmark on Calle Ocho.

The tour concludes back at the Agustin Gainza Arts and Studio.

This was the best food tour we have ever taken, and we've taken many. The guide was excellent as well and very versed in all the foods and the area we visited.

Really interesting tour. Ralph the guide was great, very informative and very amusing and kept things moving along really well. The food and drink stops were well organised and the many and varied 'samples' were so delicious. The added extra of the history lesson, providing insights into how the Cuban area of Little Havana came to be, was fascinating.

Ralph is a star! Tours can be worthless without a good tour guide, but Ralph makes it all worth it. He is a wealth of knowledge and his anthropological approach to explaining culture and history is fantastic! He's also got a great sense of humor. The highlights of the tour has got to be the empenadas and mojitos.

Money extremely well spent! A little less walking than I expected, enough time to linger at each restaurant and have fun without getting bored, a super charismatic and outgoing guide, and some seriously delicious food! I've been on food tours abroad, and in Chicago and NYC, and this was on the top! The portion sizes were larger than I expected without feeling beastly full after. The guide we had was outgoing, knowledgeable, gave a lot of cultural and local historical info, and happily took questions people had. You will not regret this tour!
