With limited time to explore the Cinque Terre, set off on this comprehensive full day tour from Milan and admire perched villages strung along a stretch of cliffs beneath the Ligurian Sea. Cinque Terre, meaning “five lands” is a National Park and a protected Marine Area linked by numerous walking paths and a train line.
Departing Milan, you’ll arrive by coach in Monterosso al Mare, the largest and most established of the five villages. Set off on your own to explore before embarking on a boat to Manarola and the Via dellAmore (Lovers Lane). Take a gentle twenty minute stroll along this coastal path, so called for its romantic vistas over the Mediterranean Sea.
Riomaggiore is Cinque Terre’s fifth village. Upon your arrival here, make the most of your free time; perhaps venturing down by the wharf where fishing boats line the shore. Alternatively you may wish to sample locally produced wine from the town’s historic vineyards.
Continue on the final leg of your scenic travels by train to La Spezia. With distant traces of this UNESCO World Heritage site behind you, your coach will be waiting ready to take you back to Milan.
