Just what we wanted!! Very nice, well informed and courteous guide. So much daVinci in a day, but it was all wonderful! Snall point: we loved how they used bikes to transport the audio gear! Very strongly recommended tour.
Excellent tour. Our guide showed us how da Vinci revolutionised art and made our appreciation of the last supper much better. On our walking tour we saw modern art, architectural styles and the loveliest church, so full of frescoes, that we wouldn't have thought to enter. Wonderful experience.
A really enjoyable tour packed with many interesting details and an excellent guide to talk us through it.
I was pleased to see both Leonardo Davinci's Codex exhibit in the Ambrosian Library and the Last Supper painting. Overall, this tour was a great way to get the lay of the land in Milan. My tour guide knew so much about the Milan's history and culture.
Great walking tour of Milan topped off with view of the Last Supper. Total time approx. 2:30-2:45.
Very good tour with just enough detail on most important items of interest.
Our guide was so knowledgeable and made the subject matter accessible. The tour was very balanced and well paced. We will definitely use you again! We had a wonderful time!
Unless you're lucky enough to snag the handful of tickets available through the Vivaticket website, a private tour is the only way to see The Last Supper. And while it's expensive, we thoroughly enjoyed the tour - our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Leonardo da Vinci, and she provided insights that we wouldn't have been able to find in a guide book. And even though you only get 15 mins. to view the actual painting, it's an amazing experience.
The Last Supper was on the top of the list of things to do during our short stay in Milan. I could not have been more pleased to have Freda as our guide. She very knowledgeable and animated. She educated us with enthusiasm! The pace of the tour was good! Would highly recommend!
Our tour guide was fantastic, very knowledgeable and seamed happy to share with the group. Loved the ear phones so I could hear everything she said. The painting left me speachless. Also seeing Lenoardo's writings and sketches was a once in a lifetime event. I would recommend this to everyone.
An outstanding guide who was extremely knowledgable and passionate. The pre sites and the short walk thru the city was interesting and informative. THE LAST SUPPER to finally get to view it after all these years. Its extremely difficult to get in, the church seels tickets but never seems to have any available. Then confusion when out time was given to another group. Our guide worked hard to get us in thankfully. You must line up prior to entry, then go thru tqo spaces being held in the last to cool down so as not to disturb the atmosphere in the room. Finally you are allowed to entry and fall under the paintings magical spell.Since the size of the griups are strickly controlled you have room to move about freely and to visually enjoy your time with the painting. It starts about six feet up from the floor level. After 20 years on restoration its strikes one as being in poor condition but we are lucky that it survived. Simply look at it. Move from side to side and the eyes of Jesus appear to follow you. It envelops you like a breaking wave.
Must be considered one of the worlds most outstanding work produced by man. Its worth the effort it takes to get to see it. You are strictly herded out by the staff after your allotted time. Good for them! Go to see it!
Content, delivery and administration extremely well handled.
The Guide was exceptional catering for both beginner and seasoned tourists.
Fantastic guide who was very passionate about what she was presenting. The Ambrosian is well worth a look; the feeling of history in the library room is amazing. Lots of information imparted between venues. The microphone system works well if you want to stop and take photos you can still hear the commentary.
Unable to buy tickets to the 'last Supper' unless buy way in advance so was a great way to see it.
Our guide knows a lot about art and art history. She communicated in a very entertaining manner and made the tour very interesting.
Very impressed - guide was engaged and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed it
Excellent guide with interesting and thoughtful insights.
The Last Supper is truly breathtaking and this tour was a must!
I loved our tour guide, she was very personable and was very knowledgable about Leonardo da Vinci. Her knowledge and explanation of the Last Supper was excellent
Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about "The Last Supper" painting, She did a fantastic job of explaining the painting, which made the experience that more meaningful. By the end of the tour we felt like we had a wonderful understanding of Leonardo da Vinci and Milan.
We never thought we would enjoy this as much as we did. Lorella was beyond fabulous. She was so passionate about the subject and kept us completely inthralled right up to the viewing of The Last Supper. I don't think we have ever enjoyed a guided tour as much!!! Would highly recommend seeing this through her eyes!!!
This tour is a must-do when in Milan! Our tour guide was very passionate about the subject and managed to actually share her passion with everyone. What an experience to be standing in front of Da Vinci's Last Supper painting - simply breathtaking! I would highly recommend this tour to everyone.
Excellent guide, enjoyable tour. Tickets to last supper sell out, we heard others complaining that they could not get any, so worth it just to ensure you get in to see the painting.
Marco was amazingly informed, interesting, and well-spoken. He gave lots of information about the art, the history, and the settings of everything we saw. He kept checking as we walked in the unusual heat wave from the museum to the church, even giving us a short reprieve in St. Maura (which was beautiful).
Something that could make the trip better might be for him to distribute water bottles 1/2 way through or after the walk. It was really hot and that would have been a nice touch. His assistant could bring them, or he could give them out at the start of the walking part. We appreciated all his information, and pacing. It was a wonderful experience for us. Also at the end, some information (maybe a small map) to show us where we were would have helped orient us as to where we ended up. Grazie. I would recommend this trip.
This was a very interesting tour. The guide was very knowledgable of the cultural, political and religious history of Milan and Leonardo. It was great to walk through the old part of the city and to have significant sites pointed out. He was able to give a good historical context to Leonardo's work. Although we primarily signed on to the tour to see The Last Supper, this tour was really enriching. The only downside, and outside of the guide's influence, was the hot weather in largely shadeless Milan streets. Despite that, I would recommend this tour as an accompaniment to visiting the painting. (By the way, the limited numbers allowed in for each viewing make it very easy to see properly, unlike a certain other famous painting by the same painter)
