Begin your day tour of Provençal fragrances, scenery and wine with pickup at your hotel in Monaco and enjoy the views as you travel west toward the town of Grasse. The town is famous as the perfume capital of the world, and you'll understand why when you step out of the vehicle – the air is fragrant with a variety of flowers that grow in the area. Take a guided tour of Fragonard, the well-known perfumery in Grasse, which gets its name from an 18th-century painter born in Grasse, Jean-Honoré Fragonard.
Next, visit the Medieval town of Valbonne to walk down narrow streets, browse little shops full of locally-made crafts or pause for a coffee or lunch in an atmospheric café or restaurant (own expense). Continue the tour with a drive northeast, following the Loup River, to the hilltop village of Gourdon. You'll see why it's sometimes called the 'Eagle's Nest' as you take in the stellar views over the region.
The last stop is in Nice, where you'll experience a professional wine tasting session at one of the smallest wineries in France - Château de Crémat. Sample some of the local wines of the Bellet appellation as you hear about the French Riviera's place in the history of wine production.
Relax on the scenic drive back to Monaco along the Middle Corniche road.
