What You Can Expect
Jump into your tandem kayak with a friend and shoot the river's medium-intensity rapids with the leadership and instruction of your guide. Along the way, take in the Jamaican jungle scenery and look for wildlife roaming the riverbanks. Stop halfway through your 3.5-hour excursion to relax on a sandbar, swim or play on a rope swing.
Climb back into your kayak and splash through some more exciting sets of rapids. When you reach Bengal Bay, kayak over to the shore for some swimming and relaxing in the sun.
Your kayaking adventure ends with drop-off back at the Montego Bay cruise port.
An excellent excursion. Instead of the 2 man kayak, we choose 2 individual tubes and went down River Bengal which is a 1.5 hour drive from Montego Bay. We were accompanied by a local who guided our tubes along the river. Stopped along the way and took a rope jump into the river. Our minivan driver was very nice and knowledgeable and provided highlights along the way.
Driver and guides were fun, safe, and great. It's an hour drive each way from Montego Bay to Rio Bueno. You got to see some of the landscape of Jamaica, not so much of Montego Bay itself, this is a full day excursion.Kayaking was beginner level, don't expect huge thrills.Beautiful river, highly recommended!
Kayaking was absolutely awesome. Jumping from the platform is tricky but definitely fun! Guys are pleasant and funny. Go out of their way to help you out. Locals can get a bit pushy about asking for money or buying their products but, hey...it is Jamaica Mon. Overall good excursion

The guides where superb made the trip however the walk up the gorge was probably better than the kayaking which was actual inflatable rafting which could have lasted longer . We went on this tour on a shore excursion and as we docked in Montego Bay there was nothing immediately where you dock to go so a planned excursion is the thing to do
The rafting was fun and easy enough for anyone who can sit in a kayak. The pickup at the ship was a nightmare. Could not find the tour operator. Had 4 different Jamaicans call on their cells phones, no answer, finally someone got another number and reached someone who picked us up 2 hrs late
