Our guides went way out of their way to Port Royal because I asked it, an they went out of their way to show us the Tuff Gong Studios and Red Stripe Breweries because they knew I was a fan. Even though we had been on the road all day, and some were anxious to get back, they made a special stop at a local Beef Patti stand because they knew I wanted the authentic Jamaican food and not the tame versions served on the resort. And of course we hit the Bob Marley museum.
Kingston is well worth the effort. The road trip was all day, yet you get to see the mountains and streams of Jamaica along with the Shanty Towns. It will make your experience much more real and enlightening than just sticking to your resort.
The price was really cheap. Others on the same bus were really jealous of the Viator price we paid.
