Our guides went way out of their way to Port Royal because I asked it, an they went out of their way to show us the Tuff Gong Studios and Red Stripe Breweries because they knew I was a fan. Even though we had been on the road all day, and some were anxious to get back, they made a special stop at a local Beef Patti stand because they knew I wanted the authentic Jamaican food and not the tame versions served on the resort. And of course we hit the Bob Marley museum. Kingston is well worth the effort. The road trip was all day, yet you get to see the mountains and streams of Jamaica along with the Shanty Towns. It will make your experience much more real and enlightening than just sticking to your resort. The price was really cheap. Others on the same bus were really jealous of the Viator price we paid.
The bus driver and the tour guide were absolutely wonderful. The driver was well skilled, and we were informed of all of the important facts of Montego Bay and the great heritage and history of the Island - which made the bus ride enjoyable. Thanks so much.
Our driver was well versed and informative on the trip from Montego Bay to Kingston, as well as the tour guide at the Marley museum.
It is sad though, that Jamaica apparently does not have plastic bottle recycling facilities as the two cities that we were in (Montego Bay and Kingston) was littered profusely with plastic and other debris.
If not for the debris, etc., Jamaica would be a beautiful island.
Only place of interest was the Marley Museum. Expected to see more, e.g., the national stadium they just drive by, unless you know it you won't notice. What about the botanical gardens, national heroes park, New Kingston, etc. UWI is not included. Lunch at Devon House was a disappointment. The staff's behavior was unwelcoming.
Even though we knew this was a long trip, 8 hours round trip, we wanted to see Kingston but again not enough time spent here. It was mainly going to the Bob Marley Museum which was well worth the visit with only a brief view of Kingston. It would have been better if the coach could have driven around and shown us more! The journey to Kingston was good with some lovely scenery especially Fern Gully.
