Excellent driver and tour guide. For pre-cruise passengers you can bring your bags with you and avoid the hassle of going back to your hotel and finding transportation to your cruise. They will take you from the central departure point to your ship. Have no reservations about recommending this tour. Only negative was the day of our tour there was a marathon going on and several streets were blocked. Our drive did an excellent job in navigating around the situation.
Jean is a wonderful guide. Very knowledgeable, personable with a great sense of humor. Great overall view of Montreal. Just wish we could of stopped more often to take pics but that's borderline impossible in some areas. Definitely not Jean's fault.
I already did this once. The tour was fine. Pick up at hotel and drop off at ship were just as promised. Guide was well trained. We only had a few hours, and we felt we learned a lot about Montreal.
This tour was everything and more. My mother and I only had one day in Montreal and wanted to see as much as possible. This tour allowed us to experience the entire city in 3 hours. Our guide allowed picture stops and made suggestions of places to eat and things to do that weren't on the tour. Amazing tour!
The bus was comfortable and the guide was knowledgeable. Montreal is a wonderful city; I would definitely return.
Was a great way to learn about Montreal before the cruise. Very grateful that we were dropped off at the cruise terminal.
Great, comprehensive tour of Montreal. Our tour director was well informed and kept us laughing throughout our tour.
Excellent tour visiting key locations in Montreal. The tour guide was excellent in his knowledge and description of the locations. Will recommend it !!!!!!!!!
t'was okey even though were just 8 in big bus, the tour guide is funny also, he was a lot of jokes shared.
The actual trip was great......in a short time we were able to see quite a bit and a great way to start a stay in Montreal. The guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of good information. I think we saw many of the best points of interest and were able to spend sufficient time at each stop to see what we wanted. We were staying in Montreal of few more days after the tour so we were able to find the areas we wanted to revisit such as a 1600's fair in Old Montreal that we did not stop at on the tour. The only negative was the logistics: We were being picked up at the cruise port and returning to our hotel. When I got my confirmation the pick up was at the hotel. After a conversation (long distance cost) with the tour provider I changed the info and got directions of where we were to meet the bus. It wasn't as easy as it sounded. The cruise port folks (including a supervisor) thought we were to meet it right outside but the person I spoke to on the phone had said no. They called from the tour company and got better directions....no easy way to get to the street, then once out of port there are two streets.......walked back and forth from each til a bus actually came. This bus takes you to another bus so the luggage has to be moved and you have to also go into the station to trade the voucher for an actual ticket which seems crazy. Then after tour changed to another shuttle bus with several other people along with our luggage and taken to the hotel.
We enjoyed our bus tour of Montreal. They we able to lock our luggage in the trunk since we had just come off a cruise and was heading to the airport later in the day. The driver was funny and had a lot of information about Montreal and the surrounding areas. The tour ran a little late because of traffic but the driver directed us the the airport bus which was very close. Very nice overview of the city in our limited time there.
The tour was good - showed us many landmarks and places of interest around Montreal. Tour leader / driver was knowledgeable and kept everyone interested - was personable. Two downsides - the tour was booked for a 9:15am pick up from our motel. We waited but by 9:39am, no pick up. Called and was told it was put back an hour. Bit cold waiting in the snow. Also a bit concerned that the driver got out of his seat to talk to everyone at any red light. Depended on someone else to tell him when it was green. Glad no-one drove up the back of the bus.
The tour was a good value and interesting. The ability to be picked up and delivered back to our hotel was very helpful. We would recommend this tour.
All our arrangements were made thru your LV office. When we arrived in Montreal we called Greyline tours as instructed by your office. We told her the pier where we were at and she told us to stay put and look for the Greyline bus at 9:15 for pick up. After 9:15 and watching lots of people come and go on different tours we never saw a Greyline. We asked different people and no one seem to know where we should be meeting the bus. Finally, someone suggested we take the elevator down and walk out front to security. We took the elevator down and were told by security personnel that we were not allowed down there. After we showed him your comfirmation letter he directed us to another security station on the ground floor outside. We had no choice as he wouldn't let us go back up so we were out in the cold. At that point we met 4 other travelers who were going on your tour and they were as lost as we were. The security women said there was a shuttle bus (not a Greyline bus) that was waiting down there but left as no one was there. We ended up walking 2 blocks with our luggage and my husband with a cane to get a taxi. It cost us $17.00 plus $3.00 tip for a total of $20.00 which I feel should be reimbursed as this was not our fault. When we called that morning why didn't the women tell us where to meet the bus. The tour itself was good but getting there was just too much trouble.
Phoned two days ahead to confirm this trip and was assured I would be picked up at hotel at 8:20 and delivered to cruise terminal after tour. Tour bus did not show as promised after several phone calls, a minibus picked me up at my hotel at 9:20 to join the larger coach at 9:30, 1/2 hour into its tour. Rest of tour was interesting, enjoyable, but at the end, we had to transfer with our luggage to another minibus to get to the cruise terminal. Suggestion. Do this as a regular tour, meeting the bus at its origin in Dorchester Square, not on transfer day. Make separate transfer arrangements.
Much confusion about where to meet the tour guide, as we were coming off our ship - we re-confirmed the day before were told exactly where to stand, showed up 40 minutes before the appointed time, waiting one hour after the appointed time. Holland America personnel contacted the local agent and were told they would be there in ten minutes. Seven people were waiting -- we finally walked down about 1/2 mile to the street, led by a Holland America agent, to meet a bus which would take us to catch up to the tour, being told we were not at the appointed pick up place???? The tour was o.k. but we were a bit exhausted with all the drama and glad to get to our hotel after it was over. More care needs to be given for specific guidelines -- and to make sure the tour guides/pick up crew, actually know they are picking up passengers!
We were picked up from our ship after docking in Montreal. However, we were told to be outside on the street by the pier (with our luggage) at 8:30 am and we had to call to find out where our van was 45 minutes later. It was drizzling, so we honestly didn't appreciate having to stand outside with our bags for so long in the inclement weather, and having to call to find out what was going on. We were taken to the main tour office, where we turned in our vouchers, then got on the bus which, by then, was nearly full. Our guide was knowledgeable; but he spoke rather monotone and much more in French than English. When we returned back to the main office, we had to wait a half hour for a van to take us to our hotel. Overall, it was a decent way to get a view of Montreal and surrounding areas, but I would have preferred a more engaging guide and a prompt pick up from the cruise terminal and drop off at our hotel.
We had the most wonderful, hysterically funny tour guide and a good tour but didn't see a statement that we were going to be given time to tour inside Notre Dame (which we had just toured the day before). We weren't very impressed with the service getting us to the ship after our tour was completed and we were deposited at the location. Waited quite a long time for a smaller shuttle to pick us up whose surly Sicilian driver actually gave my husband a very stern and angry lecture about not tipping him enough!! That was just not acceptable and left us with a very bad impression.
A very good tour of Montreal highlights considering there is so much to see in such a short time. We would like to spend more time in this beautiful, vibrant city. One suggestion we have is that Viator provide stickers for admission to Notre-Dame Basilica. Several people turned away when they were asked to pay to enter the beautiful church and there is no time for a guided tour. This really should be included in the tour. My husband would have preferred more sports venues pointed out as we toured the city. Jean, our driver/tour guide, gave us an informative tour and a safe ride. Merci, Jean.
Very poorly organized in the beginning and started over 1/2 hr late but did not go over 1/2 hr. to make up the time lost.
Tour guide knowledgable but very difficult to understand.
Unfortunately it rained the whole tour.
Just a bus tour with a few stops for photos. Tour guide did not accompany/provide any information about the Basilica Notre Dame - just let us out. Overall, a decent exposure to Montreal.
The falls was no big deal, the driver/ tour guide was unenthusiastic. The church was beautiful and the copper museum was interesting. If you only have one day, do a old town city tour.
