The ghost walk was great! The guide was amazingly animated and passionate about the tour and was very knowledgeable about the area. Would recommend for anyone wanting a neat walk through Old Montreal!
The Montreal Ghost Tour was amazing!! Our guide was very wonderful and he did an amazing job explaining it all to us! I would have liked to do both tours, but we had to leave the next day! I will do this tour again, and would recommend it to anyone!
we took the ghost hunt tour, there were 5 of us, 3 adults and 2 tweens. We all really enjoyed the tour. It was very professional and we were all very impressed at how well the actors played their parts. The only negitive point of our whole tour 90min. was an inappropriate comment to one of our tweens at the end of the tour, by the last actor, It frightened one of the tweens. But apart from that I would highly recommend it to these age groups, not for younger children as it is a little scarry. We scored it a 9 out of 10.
The tour was a lot of fun. A great opportunity to walk around Old Montreal, learn some history and be entertained.
It was a perfect night for a Ghost Walk The Narrator was excellent - very articulate, animated, and knew
his history well. However, we were expecting a little more excitement. We were really hoping to see
a few apparitions to appear either in the dark alleyways or disappearing into a haunted establishment.
It would have made it so much better (although not real). . . ..! However, we did have a great time and
I would recommend it just for the history lesson.
Thank you for the experience! J. Thibaudeau
An interesting way to see Old Montreal and get a lot of great information. Our tour guide was a bit over-the-top but she was clearly enthusiastic and my son and I had some good laughs.
The tour guide was great and he took us to many stops. He was fairly knowledgeable with the local history. Great acting.
We attended the Friday tour as were busy the other days. This is the one where actors along the way act out various scenes. Apparently the tour on the other days of the week is just a talk at various stops which would have been better for us. The tour was well organized, and worth the $. The actors were hammy but still entertaining. The only down side was they do get in your face, perhaps at least a two foot zone could be suggested.
There was not much Information given about actual ghost sighting but he was an excellent guide.
Enjoyed it, stories were well delivered and atmosphere was well done.
The guide was good. A bit ot the walking. Great stories to hear. Unfortunately it rained all the time. Therefore not so pleasant. However, something different.
Our guide was stupendous at acting but the tour itself was fast paced and rather boring!
We go on ghost tours in almost every city we visit. It is a fun way to learn about the darker history of a town. This was my least favorite tour I have been on. The guide was okay but overly dramatic and the stories lacked the history that makes them interesting.
On the Wednesday evening we were there, our tour was given in English with over 30 people in it. This was much too large a group for this tour and it should have been cut off at a smaller number of participants. The stories aren't so much "ghost" stories as they are historical tales about scary things that have happened in a particular spot.
The Guide that I had was not well versed and most definitely not a story teller. It took him forever to tell a story and then not very well. Too many hms and ahs; too many lapses in the story; couldn't remember names, etc.. We never went to any particular area or building that was supposed to be haunted. He walked too fast and some of us had to actually run to keep up; he never looked back to see if everyone in the group was up to his speed. All in all the cost was too much for this particular event and I personally would not recommend it.
A bit entertaining, a bit spooky, and very hokey, but not worth what you pay for it, especially seeing as the people of Montreal can be heard laughing at the group as they walk by. Also, it apparently is not for youngsters. We had an 8 year old on our tour, and halfway through the walk he was so scared he and his parents abandoned the tour.
A little hard to follow the story as it was not really self-contained. Good effort on the ghost teller though. Would have been more interesting to have more 'actors' involved, and possibly re-live some of the tales!
I had done too much walking already that day so my friend went and I stayed at the hotel. She said I made the right choice because the lady went very fast and there would have been no way I could have kept up the pace. I believe they should tell you that ahead of time and that there is no place to sit down. She said it was interesting but even young people had problems moving as fast as the two hosts did.
It was all right except it was cold and pouring out. It would have been better with nicer weather.
I would say that this can easily be skipped. First there were way too many people - maybe 25 or 30. Our guide "Mr E" walked so fast that most of us were jogging after him. I actually considered just walking away at the first stop, but I though it might get better. Several of us asked him to slow down, but he couldn't seem to comply. That aside, there was really nothing "ghosty" about the ghost tour. Just some stops where ghosts has been "seen" or "heard". Probably the best part (if there was a best part) was the courthouse and the area where public hangings were carried out. Don't spend you money.
