We had a decent trip. Our bus driver was affable but understandably distracted, leaving for some half-told anecdotes and a limited grasp of much of Ottawa's history on our part. We enjoyed seeing many of the sights, such as the changing of the guard at both the Governor General's home and Parliament Hill, but we definitely felt rushed through the Canadian history museum. We ended up quite bored with Byward Market by the end of the day, and regretted missing the tour of the Governor General's home. Also, we had to walk to the war memorial ourselves, which was a bother. All in all, a positive experience. We really regretted that we only had an hour in the museum, especially since it was not included in the tour price, but we all learned a bit and got a decent overview of the city.
Driving was good, excellent, especially during rain all time.
Such a clean and pretty city. A must see.

It was definitely worth the trip. I really enjoyed the city tour although we had very little time in the museum. I thought the Byward Market was great, and we really did need 3 hours there. I visited the Notre Dame Cathedral, and it was magnificent. Our driver/guide was OK; he made sure to remind us on the way home about his tip, which is a big TURNOFF to vacationers. Found Canadians as a whole very pushy when it came to their tip, which is a big turnoff for visiting Canada again.
The tour was excellent; it started on time, and each place is beautiful. I recommend it.
We only had a day in Ottawa, but that was better than not getting there at all. This trip was very informative and well organised. As always, you don't get enough time to see things like museums properly, and I would have liked that. Seeing only the outside of the Museum of Civilization was frustrating!
Very nicely done. The guide made well-thought-out changes in our schedule to meet circumstances, and we were able to see all that was promised. The free time and the suggestions to fill that were wonderful. We had an excellent experience.
i took three viator tours, the one going to Ottawa, Quebec, and one downtown Montreal, and i really have to say, that you should seriously consider to offer food (i would gladly pay an extra fee for it) for Ottawa (for this tour the driver didn't stop for a single second, to get food or something) and Quebec, by the time we reached Ottawa i was not only starving, but also dying with a bad case of migraine (the same for Quebec!!), the pain was so bad, that i didn't had time to think on what to eat, and just rushed to mcdonalds, after that i was ok to start exploring the city, but it turns out that i didn't actually have time for it, because i had to rush to the totem to head back to montreal.... so Ottawa was awesome, but this tour was not enough, that said, the guide was really cool, if it wasn't for her i would be really disapointed.
Fantastic guide, super polite and accomodating drivers. I wish we had more than 1.5 hours of free time in the city. We missed the changing of the guards (arrived a few minutes later), was not able to to go the parliament building (lookout only) or take a cruise or do something else that wa suggested by our guide (and we didn't go anywhere for lunch because of being short on time).Very big timing issue. I would suggest to prolong the time of the tour at least for 2 hours so tourists could actually do something in the city.
You only really need one day to see Ottawa so for me this was a good and value for money way to do this. My only criticism really is that once we arrived in Ottawa the tour seems a bit unorganised, for example we turned up at the church and told to go and look at the inside only to find that mass had just started and we couldnt get in. The tour guide seemed very knowledgable but repeated herself quite a lot and I really didn't get the victoria clothes and character bit. Personally I would have prefered an extra hour of free time and a later return (we were back by around 6:30pm) or a drop off closer to the parliament buildings so that we could have taken advantage of the tour there. Might want to consider including the parliament tour as optional extras when booking.
Was good to get away from Montreal. Wouldn't need more than a day here though
The trip to Ottawa was okay; we had a knowledgeable tour guide and pleasant bus driver. However, there wasn't enough time to visit inside Parliament, which was disappointing. Also, our trip was cut short by 2 hours, instead of leaving Ottawa at 6p.m. we left at 4p.m. We paid for a 12 hour trip instead we got 10 hours. In the near future I hope Viator revises their itinerary.
I loved de city tour and explanations, but it was a short stay and too much trip to Ottawa. I had to do it this way because when I was looking for a tour in Ottawa but staying in Ottawa I didn't find anyone
