What You Can Expect

Moorea Snorkeling Safari

Colorful marine life

After hotel or wharf pickup, board your boat for a 2-hour Moorea snorkeling tour that takes you to the azure waters of Moorea’s lagoon. En route, your guide makes a stop at Sting Ray Paradise where these fascinating creatures nibble on fish bait along a shallow sandbar. You can stand in 3-foot-deep (1-meter) clear water and touch the stingrays or watch the feeding frenzy from the boat while small black-tip reef sharks circle nearby.

From here, continue on to the white-sand beach of a magnificent motu (small island) shaded by coconut palms. Your guide provides snorkeling equipment and instruction for exploring Moorea’s tropical fish and colorful corals in the exquisite lagoon.

Continue your cruise past several small islands in Opunohu Bay, a secluded gem known as the Tahitian landing site of the HMS Bounty, where the famous mutiny on Captain William Bligh took place.

Your morning or afternoon Moorea snorkeling safari ends with drop-off at the starting point.

Being able to pet sting rays and see the sharks that were in the lagoon was an awesome experience.

It was a let down after our fabulous Bora Bora snorkeling tour. The level of service was equally high.

The water was absolutely beautiful, & the tour guides were very friendly & welcoming.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better January 2013

the snorkeling was great, but they took us to a very rocky beach where we had to walk into the water with our fins on, and it made it very difficult to walk and the coral was very sharp and the guide who took us there just disappeared.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this August 2008

If you are doing the Shark and Ray feeding, I do not recommend this because you go to the same island to snorkel. The only difference is that you don't see sharks and you don't get the picnic lunch. Not worth it, go with the Shark and Ray feeding with Motu picnic.
