This was an all round great tour, a highlight of our Europe vacation
The tour was great. Too much fog Togo to the tea house so our tour was the Nazi bunker and the salt mines. Both were very interesting and worthwhile. A good guide and the entire trip was very lovely and educational.
Excellent guide and very worth while visit. The weather was uncooperative with a lot of fog so the view was not seen at all. Beautiful countryside along the way.
Totally worth it! The tour bus departed promptly at the appointed time and we were there on schedule, in spite of problems caused by passport controls being implemented at the border. This tour takes away the hassle of having to deal with traffic, tickets etc. and simply delivers you to Eagle's Nest with minimal effort. Unfortunately, the top of the mountain was extremely foggy and i could not see anything from Eagle's Next, but that still did not detract from the place itself.
The time at Berchtesgaden is fairly small but this town is not something you would be able to cover in 1 hour anyway. I came back the next day and stayed overnight at Berchtesgaden, to take in the many vistas and sights.
Out tour guide Ana was extremely knowledgeable and gave us many interesting nuggets of information about Munich, Germany, Eagle's Nest and it's history, along the way. We had the added bonus of driving back through quaint, CHARMING little hamlets on the way back to Munich in order to avoid a major traffic jam on the highway. It was like a tour within a tour, there's no way i would have been able to traverse through those little towns on my own.
All in all, would DEFINITELY recommend this tour!
The guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the geography and history of the areas. Very friendly and approachable.
I really enjoyed the view from the top of the Tea house, and the alps, besides some history about Hitler.
Great tour and our guide, Sophie was very knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Perfect weather with clear views from the Eagle's Nest. Beautiful and scenic area of Bavaria with an interesting history of it's own without the Nazi connection.
Wonderful trip and great guide , Ana. She couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful.
You'd better hang on to her.
Our tour guide Elisabeth was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable about the town and history I was amazed! This was a great trip!!
This was an amazing tour and our tour guide, Ms. Elizabeth was awesome, very very good history recap.
We started out early, unfortunately we were caught up in heavy traffic and caused so much of our time going to the site, Ms. Elzabeth was actually worried that we might not be able to make it to Berchtesgaden. Our driver and Ms. Eliabeth were kind enough to extend their working hours just to bring us to Berchtesgaden, thanks to them, the place was beautiful and worth the trip. Eagle's Nest and the Bavarian Alps were breathtaking, don't mind doing this tour again in the future!
Elizabeth was very knowledgeable and informative and because of traffic jams both she and the coach driver, Eugan, went the extra mile to ensure that we did not miss seeing anything. 100 performance all round.
This was a well organized trip with a good guide. In spite of changeable weather the surrounding scenery is beautiful. The view from Kehlstein is great in spite of its associations with the third reich. The documentation centre in the former bunkers will add only details for anyone who has read much about nazi history.
Excellent visit to the Eagles Nest. Well organised and informative. The visitor centre is a must along with the underground tunnels.
Well planned and operated tour with excellent commentary. It is not often that it all comes together, even the weather to make what is a long day go so fast. Well worth doing this one.
My boyfriend and I loved this trip. Our guide was fantastic, we were lucky to have her two days in a row and she was extremely knowledgeable. We found there was more than enough time at the Eagle's Nest and the surrounding area, however we only got a very short time about 15 minutes in Berchtesgaden, so if that is something you are wanting to focus on I would say make your own way there.
The other thing is please don't eat at the restaurant near the Eagle's Nest, the food was disgusting and the staff had no idea what they were doing, they were also extremely rude, when we tried to pay them they yelled at us I don't have time for this! so pack your own lunch.
Our guide Sophie and driver Alex were excellent. Sophie spoke very well and gave us a lot of historical content
and local information. Alex took some side roads to avoid an accident on the way back and we had the added bonus of driving thru some beautiful Bavarian towns. The Eagle's Nest has long been on our wish list and this tour did not disappoint. We were blessed with a brilliant day and therefore had amazing views of the Alps from the mountain top. The operation was professional and I would recommend it.
The scenery from the top was spectacular. Worth the crowded lift up and down to the very top. Guide was very informative about German history as we motored along. We were in the midst of the immigrants coming into the Central Train Station in Munich at our pick up point. So proud to hear many Germans thought it was payback time. Very touching.
This was a great tour. Our guide, Katarina, did a marvelous job not only in conducting the tour, but also in keeping 52 folks from getting lost and straying off. She scheduled an extra stop for us to stroll around the town of Berchtesgaden on the way home. If you go on this tour, be sure to visit the Documentation Center and the visitor's center after the tour. She also allowed us some free time for lunch and shopping. A long day, but a don't miss it tour if you have any interest in the WWII and Nazi era.
Trip was awesome. Our guide was great, she really new her history.
