This was the best tour we took during our two week visit to Europe. Mat the guide is an expatriate Brit who was funny and interesting and guided us through some of the landmarks in Munich near the altstadt (old city). Not only was it informative about the early history of Munich, but also of the Nazi impact on the city and the effects of the war. But, this is the educational part of a tour that is also really a barrel of fun as you zip through Munich on a Segway. Learning to use it is a snap (it was our first time and we are both 58 years old), and riding it is a gas! We got some interesting looks from bystanders as we cruised down the streets, along the river, and through the park.
Definitely worth doing.
5 star experience !!!! Mat, our tour guide was absolutely fantastic! Completely knowledgable covering vast amounts of interesting history we would have otherwise missed out on. Been home 2 weeks and can't stop thinking about it!!!
so much fun. great guide. very informative and kept things interesting.
Great tour and Segways are a great toy. The tour guide Matt was knowledgable and very easy to relate to.
Our segway tour with Matt was great. He was very knowledgeable about the city of Munich and even customized our tour once he found we were interested in seeing churches. He had a funny personality and was easy on the eyes. :) The segways were easy to ride, even for my 70 yr old parents. I would highly recommend this tour.
The best thing you can ever do in Munich!!! A must for sure!!
We LOVED this tour! Our guide Steve was awesome and very knowledgeable. We were running a little behind due to our constant questions and Steve's patience to answer each one, but he didn't cut us short - he still took us to all the sites, and just took us all back a little later. My Dad (in his late 60s) absolutely loved this and was his favorite thing we did in the city. Would highly recommend this great tour that allows you to experience so much of Munich in a short few hours!
Had Tex as a guild. First 15 minutes my girlfriend and I thought it was going to be the worst tour ever. We thought he was rude and abrasive but we were totally wrong. He has a very dry sense of humor and once you understand he is amazing. We would highly recommend him to others.
Tex was a fun tour guide and made all of us feel welcomed. He taught all of us how to ride Segway safely before before exploring the city, which was very helpful. I would definitely recommend anyone visiting Munich to take this tour; it is a fun way to navigate around streets of Munich with just few hours.
The best way to see Munich. Tex was great fun! The day was dismal, cold a rainy, and he was very considerate about our comfort as we were all exposed to the elements. DO THIS TOUR so you see more than just the Glockenspiel and HofbrauHaus on your visit to this beautiful and historic city!
Our guide Tex was awesome and very knowledgeable, he helped my 70+ year old parents master the Segway that we are doing it in Prague also. Tex showed us a lot in Munich and was very funny at times. I recommend anyone any age to do this.
This I'd my 4th Segway tour with Viator, Munich, Paris -twice and Copenhagen. You can cover much more area with a Segway and you get the guide and his experience. This was the first time for my wife (58) and no problems. I recommend you search out Viator before you go to any major city. I have booked 15 trips without any problem.
My wife and I took the tour in July during our week-long holiday in Munich. The weather was hot on the day. But effortless travel across the town did not tire us at all. In fact riding a Segway gave us very welcome wind-chill. We saw nearly all important places in central Munich. The main exception was Marienplatz and Neues Rathouse. Our guide (Mat) advised us that the place was too busy and overcrowded to go through on Segways.
Riding a Segway proved very easy. The introductory session taught us everything we needed to safely move on the streets.
Mat gave us a good overview of the history of Bavaria and Munich. Occasionally he expressed very personal opinions about museums and exhibitions we were passing by. Personally I enjoyed his comments but I can imagine that some people looking for a "very formal" way of guidance may find his approach a bit relaxed.
What a great tour!!! I had doubts that I could ride a Segway, but our guide had us all handling them like pros in no time at all. He was personable and knowledgeable and took us to many great locations. The ride to get to the sites was more than half the fun! It was cold and rainy, but they supplied rain gear and even coats to those of us who came unprepared.
