Just wonderful ...our guide was excellent and could manage our demands on time with the places that she wanted to show us very adroitly.
Salzburg was a lot of fun! I really enjoyed the boat ride at the end of the day. It was a final touch to an already wonderful day. The romantic road tour was also a good experience. I really enjoyed the castle on the way to Rothenburg.
Our guides and drivers were great, particularly Elisabeth. Both the lake and Rothenburg were beautiful as always
Highly recommended visit to Rothenburg a very well preserved medieval town.
The trip to Salzburg and Wolgangsee lake and the additional boat trip were also very interrsting with excellent views.
The transportation in coach was fine as the guides on board
Salzburg and Lake District day trip brought us through stunning views of the alps and the lakes! Our guide was very informative and made the experience a very pleasant one for us.
Our guide on the Romantic Road and Rothenberg day trip was quite elderly and he kept repeating the same information during the journey. However, we had a good time interacting with him when he took some of us to the city walls during the free and easy time. We enjoyed his guided walk to the city walls.
Rothenburg alone is worth the price of the trip. It is beautiful. Salzburg and the boat ride on Lake Wolfgang are also beautiful. The hills are certainly alive in Austria.
Salzburg was a fairy tale city, and Rothenburg was absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend this tour.
Lovely day trip. The drive was beautiful. It was interesting to see the Sound of Music sights .Its a easy walk to see all of the sites in town but a long walk back to the bus. We really enjoyed the boat ride, don't miss it! Our tour guide played the Movie on the bus as we drove back. A nice touch! Next day- Trip to Rothenburg which was wonderful! Loved walking around the old medieval town, well worth the trip. The Christmas store was great! Spent a hour looking at all the ornaments! Note: print out two vouchers, they need a paper copy to board the bus each day.
Well thought out and gave us enough time to explore on our own with recommendations of where to go.

Salzburg was a long bus ride, but the town is just so cute, I highly recommend this tour. However, you're really just paying for transportation, you're left to your own devices once you arrive. You'll want to decide in advance which sights are priority because there isn't enough time to see everything. We took the elevator up to get some fantastic photos overlooking the city and fortress, so definitely don't miss that, but get lunch elsewhere. The restaurant just above the lookout is a little overpriced and if you sit outside, the bees will swarm you. The old cemetary below the cliff is quiet and very beautiful and the main pedestrian street is really something else. Our favorite part of this day was the boat trip on the lake, but don't forget extra euros, its not included in the tour price. It was a sunny beautiful day and very relaxing after so much walking.
The Romantic Road / Rothenburg trip was probably the highlight of our vacation for me. You make a short stop first at Harburg Castle and take a short, interesting tour of the fort. Then on to Rothenburg which is the epitome of what you'd think Old Bavaria should look like. I don't care if people say its touristy, if you're on vacation then you're a tourist, get over yourself and enjoy it for what it is... a cute, quaint, fun, beautiful little village with a bunch of other tourists. If you have the time and money, I recommend staying here for a night or two because an afternoon will just leave you wanting more. You're left to your own devices upon arrival, so don't expect a guided tour, but its more fun exploring on your own anyway. Don't miss a walk along the defensive wall and try a Schneeballen, they're not super sweet and they come in all kinds. If you're looking for a great souvenir, this is the place to get it. The Anneliese Friese Cuckoo Clock store is THE BEST hands down! Best service, best prices and its all German-made, not from China. Go here first!
Both of these tours were great. We had Bridget, a light-hearted tour guide. The scenery was gorgeous. We didn't feel like we had enough time to spend in Salzburg but the boat ride on the Wolfgangsee was spectacular. Rothenburg was amazing too, but you'd better be prepared for quite a long bus ride.
Salzburg was great our guide Tina did an excellent job. She had some problem with people not following the rules and we had to wait and look for people who did not show up at the bus on time. The Romantic road was even better the castle was fantastic and easy to walk through. Roethenburg was very interesting and I would love to back there again.
What a great trip. We really got our monies worth. At first there was a little confusion with one tickets for two trips but that was taken care of. Fred was our Salzburg/Lake Tour guide and he was fantastic!! Wish we had a little more of the Sound of Music locations but we were told they were all over the place. The lakes and boat ride were so beautiful what a enjoyable tour.
Bridgette was the Romantic Road guide and even though it was a crummy day she made it so fun and knowledgeable. The castle and town was so awesome and romantic. I would highly recommend this tour!
This is a wonderful trip. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly. Loved every minute of the tour. Would highly recommend this day trip to any traveler of Munich.
Ausgezeichnet! I could not have enjoyed Salzburg and Wolfgang Lake boat ride better. The scenery was beautiful. The weather was perfect. The tour guide was easy to follow and to learn from.
Day 1: Salzburg and Lake District
This was an absolute delight! The beautiful Austrian towns and trinkets make the trip well worth it.
Day 2: Romantic Road and Rothenburg
The trip to Rothenburg is worth the entire trip. The visit to the Harburg castle was underwhelming. They can pick a different castle or take it out altogether. But, the city of Rothenburg was spectacular! The only complaint I have is how cold it was on the bus. Despite being asked several times to adjust the heat, it was never done. I had to travel in headgear, a scarf, sweater, pea coat, gloves and a BLANKET in attempt to be warm on the bus. Unacceptable.
Loved the Salzburg route more than the Rothenburg route. Lake Wolfgang was amazingly beautiful. Our tour guide is very knowledgable and intelligent. The bus for the Rothenburg trip came in a little late in morning and created a little chaos.
Great time and the bus driver was great. The tour guide was nice but she didn't keep up with us very well .A lot of us felt left out as she went too fast walking ahead of us. The city was beautiful and the bus ride was smooth.
We thoroughly enjoyed the Salzburg and Lake District and Romantic Road and Rothenburg Day trips. Our guide for the Salzburg trip was a very fast walker and with the amount of other people on tours and visiting Salzburg we ended up losing her. Luckily she did tell us before we left the bus what time we needed to be back on the bus if you aren't there they will leave you behind. I do have one recommendation for tour guide or tour company - the guide should have a stick with the name of the tour and the tour company on it so we can follow the tour and not get left behind.
The Romantic Road and Rothenburg trip was well worth the money. Such beautiful country and Rothenburg is a great medial town. Our tour guide was wonderful. She was always smiling and joking with us. This is a must do trip.
a good way to see some of the country side and learn about the history of Salzberg and Rothemburg in a relaxed way. Both full day trips, buses very comfortable and guides excellent.
Both days were super long but very beautiful. Would have loved to see more Sound of Music sights or been given time to do that tour on our own while there.
Salzburg was crowded and the guide was so so....Wolfgangsee was beautiful.... the romantic road day was incredible and we really enjoyed it. The guide was very good and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend this trip to others.....
