Excellent experience. Keith was a wonderful and informative guide. More walking than expected. Took bus up the hill but still needed to walk steep hill up to the castle. Many steps in the castle itself. It was worth it though!

It was a very good trip, well organised and with a very good guide. Nicola, our guide, was very knowledgeable and covered things that were not covered by the tour in the castle (not very informative btw). We would not have gotten so much out of it if it wasn't for Nicola. The group was also very good and we met some very nice people in there. I would certainly recommend.

This is a MUST DO for anyone visiting Munich. Although it is a full day there was no wasted time. Our tour guide Mike was excellent and his organisational skills made the process of travelling from Munich by train and the castle access seamless. His commentary was knowledgeable and relevant without being an intrusion. The tour office was very easy to find at the train station. The train trip down to and from the castle took a comfortable two hours each way and we were fortunate to have a snowy day for our visit which added to the fairytale atmosphere. I had intended to take the horse and cart up the road to the castle but in the end I walked up and back and it was quite an easy walk albeit all up hill and then all down hill.
Make sure that when you get to the castle that you are ready to enter the turnstile at the allotted time as your tickets are only valid for entry through the gate for 3 minutes after the timeframe of your visit. Even though I went on a Winter's day with heavy snow falling there were easily hundreds of other people there so this is a very busy site. The castle was magnificent and it is certainly a must to pay the extra to gain entry for the tour. The interiors are breathtaking. I highly recommend this tour.

I went to the castle the end of December, it was obviously cold and it was snowing on our day. We left Munich by train and then continued a small ways by bus. Once we arrived to the village we were able to get a small bite to eat before hiking up to the castle. Our tour group all wanted to hike, so it worked out well. From there we started our journey. It definately is a 20 min hike and it is steep, but very worth it if you are physicaly able. We were able to look over at the castle from the famous bridge, very breath taking. Walking through the castle seems short and rushed, but it's all part of the tours from the castle and the time frame. I don't have any negative things to say about the tour. I very much enjoyed myself. If you are more of the type that wants to go by your own pace and not be on a time frame, then I don't recommend this tour.

This was a fantastic tour and well worth the money, tour guide had exceptional knowledge of the castle. It was even better when the guide helped me to capture the moment i proposed to my girlfriend infront of the castle. You need to be quite fit to walk to the top. Great views

Our trip was led by Geoff who from the start was energetic, entertaining and had a wonderful apt for storytelling. The train journey to Fussen was beautiful and the trip to the castle was breathtaking! So much so that 1 of our party got down on bended knee and proposed to his girlfriend! Great Trip.
