Ian was a great guide, and we enjoyed a beautiful day. The hiking was strenuous even thought I was prepared (we took a short cut up the mountain and followed a river down hill).
Really enjoyed the tour. A 2 hr train ride each way and a good amount of time to see the castle. The trek to the castle was a little tough, so would suggest you catch the bus if you are not incredibly fit. The tour inside the castle was run very efficiently and provided you with details about the rooms and the king. There was time to grab a bite to eat and browse the gift shops.
Excellent! We went up to the bridge, where there was an excellent overview of the castle. After the tour, we walked down a gorge with a raging river that was worth seeing by itself. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the pace of the tour was just right. I don't see how another tour could squeeze in Linderhof the same day without leaving out some of the best parts.
Fantastic tour to the castle. Our host was very friendly and was very experienced in walking up to the castle. Overall, a not to be missed trip when you are in Munich. You will not regret the tiring walk once you reach the castle.
great. mike our guide took us on some back trails around the castle. very cool. plenty of time when there. great for solo travelers. you skip the lines and save lots of time getting there!!
Adam from Radius Tour is excellent. He is very informative and know his King, King Ludwig, inside out. The journey up the castle is not an easy route, but with him as the leading guide and companion, we all made it including one passenger on the wheel chair. Adam actually pushed the wheelchair on the way up to the castle. Way to go Adam, 5 stars for you all the way!
We had a beautiful day, an informative guide and got to see a side of the castle that we did not see on our previous trip. Wonderful!
I have been wanting to see this castle for some time and this tour did not disappoint. Our tour guide Jared was fabulous, and constantly went above and beyond our expectations. He was very informative, enthusiastic about the topic, and made sure everyone was comfortable and having a good time. The walk up to the castle is very steep and exhausting in the sun but well worth it. The people that took the bus ended up only having a quick min to take pictures on the bridge as there was a line and we beat them up by 15 min. That being said if you doubt your ability to make it up you should take the bus. The castle is beautiful inside and out and the story of King Ludwig very fascinating. This is very worth while and I highly recommend this tour. Thanks Jared!
Our guide was a first-class tour guide. He was extremely knowledgable about the history of the castle and indeed was very knowledgable about German history. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and found our guide both willing and capable of giving as much information as you demanded. He even recommended books for further reading. We didn't take the inside tour of the castle, having read other reviews of it. The people in our group that did said they thought we had done the right thing and gone off for a walk. Doing that we saw the lake which we wouldn't have been able to do had we taken the inside tour. The views are beautiful. A word of warning, even though it may not be cold in Munich, you are heading into the mountains, there was a small amount of snow and slush, not a problem for us as we went suitably clothed but some in our group were not at all dressed for the cold conditions and ended up with wet feet. We went in April. Go on the trip - it is well worth it! Take your camera. Highly recommended.
I found the tour to be as advertised. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He was sensitive to the needs of the group and was free to give us advice on going various routes, etc. I am sorry I don't remember his name but he was from Minnesota and had been in Germany about 8 years. While my wife and I had been there before, anyone who had not might not realize how long the climb is to get to the castle, so I recommend you somehow let them know up front. Great tour.
A very good tour. The tour guide Maxine was very good. The train ride was enjoyable and the castle tour a great experience.
