We had the time of our life. I read ALL the reviews before going, good and bad, so we knew exactly what to expect. Our guide was excellent! The small group was about 15 people, just the right size. I would highly recommend the tour.

Travelers should be advised about the need to hike up part of the Alps. Individuals with health issues and older people should be advised so they don't expect transportation to the door. Returning downhill on food could be very difficult, even though they can take a horse and buggy available; it means they would not have enough time to explore the castle. The location of the pickup for the tour was difficult to find, and the fact the tour was largely by train combined with a short bus trip was not disclosed.

Absolutely gorgeous time of year with clear blue skies, warm to hot weather, the magnificent colours of autumn golds, reds, ambers on top of lush green, and of course the fantastic castle.

My whole experience with Viator was great. The online booking was easy, with the voucher printout to give me peace of mind of tour confirmation. Viator also sent me an email reminder before the tour. The tour meeting point was easy to find. Tour started punctually. The tour guide was knowledgeable and jovial. She talked enough for us to know what to expect and what to do, and left us to enjoy the experience on our own without the feeling that we were huddled around in a group. The tour itself was enjoyable. It was not just the castle, which is stunning from both outside and inside, but the experience of a 2-hour train ride, a 15-minute bus ride and a lovely 20-minute walk up to the castle amidst beautiful trees and scenery.

Everything went perfectly. Tour leader was excellent. All travel arrangements were coordinated for best use of time. Tour of the castle was good. We were lucky to have the benefit of truly beautiful fall color in the trees to add to the enchantment.

Had I not had so much "fun" at Oktoberfest the night before, I probably would have enjoyed it a lot more. Regardless, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful time and now have many great photos to share with our friends and families. Great job!

We had an excellent time on our tour. What really made it worth the trip was the tour guide. We called him the "Red Knight". He was American, which helped. We were told to follow the red hat he was wearing. It was very helpful with all the other tour guides and their people around. He spent as much time with you as you needed. Very informative, knew all the ropes, additionally, knew the good eating places at the castle and in Munich. The castle was just awesome as well as the scenery. Would go back in a heart beat!

The best way to see Neuschwanstein as a day trip from Munich. All of the transportation is handled, the guide was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and entertaining. The castle is as breathtaking as it appears. Definitely my best day in the Munich area. The only downside is that photos weren't allowed in the castle, but the tour provided a huge opportunity for photos from the exterior and surrounding area. Great time!!

It was a fun and interesting tour. Would recommend as we didn't have to wait in lines for tickets once we got to the castle and all the train/bus connections were planned for us.

A wonderful but exhausting day. The tour guide looked after us all extremely well. The balance of being in a party and being free to explore as we wished was excellent.

The trip is really worth it, pretty well planned, an excellent tour guide who was not only full of information, but also very helpful. One of the best tours I've been on. I wish we could have stayed near the lake side a bit longer though.
