The tour was fabulous. We took the train from Munich and enjoyed all the beautiful country side attractions leading up to the castles. The guide was absolutely brilliant when depicting the history of Neuschwanstein. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to fill a day with excitement.
The tour was wonderful! Our guide made us feel welcome and well taken care of. The train trip was relaxing and the castle was amazing. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area and the castle from our guide.
Great trip with good pace. Time to shop and eat . Guide was great , informative and amusing. The whole area around the castle is very scenic. Well worth it.
Awesome people, awesome use of time. The tour guide was very nice and had no problem answering everyone's questions or just chatting. The castle tour itself was very quick (most of the rooms weren't completed so they only let us in the four or so completed rooms) but worth doing. Beautiful. Would recommend.
Our tour guide did a wonderful job of giving us the history of the castle, the area, and King Ludwig II. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to any of my friends.
A great day, right from the start to the end. Very scenic train ride, tour guide was very knowledgeable of the history of the area and of King Ludwig. The town at the base of the castles was very picturesque, lots of photo opportunities all along the way. The walk up to the castle was pretty steep, but there is plenty of time, so you can go at your own pace. The tour through the castle itself is lead by an official Neuschwanstein guide, not the guide you travel with, but that he was fine too. We chose to take the gorge walk down from the castle, which is also very scenic. It is a hike, but an easy one, so wear appropriate shoes if you plan on doing that. You can learn as much history as you want about the region and the era from the tour guides, so definitely take advantage of that.
This trip was well worth it, and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the area.
Great tour! Tour guide (Stefan) was very nice and personable. Very knowledgable. Was a beautiful day, so the views were spectacular! Especially from the bridge!! We opted to walk up to the castle. We were warned that it is quite a hike and he was not kidding!! Not for anyone with walking issues!! The only negative was that the tour of the inside of the castle was very short (maybe 20 minutes) as there are only a few of the rooms "completed". The tour guide inside the castle was someone different and seemed to rush you through. However, the views made up for it! Lots of fun!!
Excellent trip and great value! Beautiful structure and setting! Jeff our guide did an awesome job of describing the complete history of Bavaria, Germany and Ludwig. The train ride to and from was a great opportunity to see the country side and especially take photos from windows that opened. Highly recommend this tour and especially Jeff!
This tour was an absolute highlight of our holiday to Munich. Our tour guide Craig was great, very engaging and made sure everyone in the group was included in chats and activities. The only notes I'd add to the tour description would be to wear good walking shoes (one gentleman in our group had dress shoes on which were a nightmare for walking uphill in the snow!), and for vegetarians to pack their own lunch.
The castle is beautiful, the tour is well organised and smoothly run. We had a fantastic day.
Our visit to Neuschwanstein Castle was excellent. The small group tour was perfect for us. No big bus of dramas. We caught train to Fussen with tour guide giving us historical info along the way much to the delight of the other passengers.
Castle itself was fascinating. The view from the bridge was breathtaking. After viewing the castle, we were walking back down the hill with hot chocolate in hand, when it began to snow lightly. As we live in a tropical climate, we found it amazing.
Unfortunately, the group missed the usual train back to Munich, but we adjourned to nearby pub, to sample local beer and wait for next train.
Whole tour was fantastic. Delightful day.
There were just four of us on the tour and we had a great guide. We liked how he gave us the history before we got to the castle. He explained the options of climbing the trail or taking the bus. The castle tour guide was hard to hear and there were a lot of people on the tour, but that was not in your control. We loved this tour and would highly recommend it.
Excellent Tour!! Nicola, our tour guide, was professional and provided a wealth of information.
This tour was excellent value for money and we had a first class guide in Franz who really looked after us well and was most interesting and concerned for our welfare and comfort
