This was a great tour. The Nightwatchman's Tour of the town was brilliant and very amusing. Wuld recommend to anyone. Rothenburg is a lovely town.
This was a wonderful tour that got us from Munich to Frankfurt but included priceless sightseeing on the Romantic Road - also Rothenburg should not be missed on a trip to Germany! It is a beautiful and amazingly well preserved medieval town! The Nightwatchman Tour is the best and not to be missed!
Rothenburg is an awesome little town to spend with a girlfriend en route to Frankfurt from Munich.
We loved the bus tour, however it was a bit hurried as we only had 20 minutes at three of our stops. The bus was comfy and the driver offered information along the way. The hotel where we stayed in Rothenburg was a very rustic 16th century and not as comfortable as we would have liked. The Night Watchman tour was a highlight of the trip.
Rothenburg and the bed and breakfast overnight at Rothenburg were wonderful. The bus ride to Rothenburg was good. The bus ride to Frankfurt was not good. The driver was late; the ride was fast; the one promised stop was not done; and the other stop was quick and I almost got left behind just standing next to the bus! The driver on the last leg to Frankfurt did not count passengers before leaving and the stops were brief. Furthermore, I did not like it when the driver to Frankfurt was hitting on a female passenger in front of the passengers. So because of the low class actions of your driver, it was not a great ride.
We had no idea how this overnight trip was organized. To our surprise when we boarded the bus we were handed vouchers for taxi, hotel etc. There was no guide, no one to help us with questions. This was an English tour but the bus driver did not speak English. Only the very poor quality tapes he played when passing a village were in English.
The sites were amazing and the accomodation at the Golden Rose were far above expectation = thnak you. However the second day on the bus to Frankfurt was horrible. He made stops at places we did not know we would be stopping at ie. a Thimble museum. The 3 of us on the bus wanted to just continue to Frankfurt but we could not. Then we stopped at a Mall - the driver bought his wife running shoes while the 3 of us waited by the bus and we had no interest in a shopping mall. We were to be in Frankfurt at 8pm but very snickily he slowly let us know that he was now asked to become the express bus from the Mall to Frankfurt. This meant we had to wait for many people. When the Romantic road tour continued the "mall shoppers" were very confused with the english messages on points of interest. This made us terribly late, so if you have connections to make I would not count on it with this tour company. This was by far the worst part of our 18 day Europe trip. Stay away from this tour company.
Not enough quality time spent at the Castle. Lunch was very ordinary.
We were disappointed in the amount of time actually on the Romantic Road - probably like 25% only. We thought we were going through Wuzurburg and ended up at shopping mall - Wertheim Village wainting 20 minutes to pick up passages and then went straight to Frankfurt. We do not believe we received what we had been sold and paid for.
