We thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Debbie, our guide, was wonderful and explained everything in detail along the way! The Harburg castle was breathtaking and the sun came out just long enough for us to take some wonderful photos. Rothenburg was the highlight - like a fairytale! Definitely do this tour if staying in Munich!
This was definitely a great way to spend the day, traveling down the Romantic Road while hearing about the sights we saw along the way. Our tour guide Debbie was very informative, entertaining and very enthusiastic. The historical Harburg castle was well worth the visit - amazing to see something so old. And of course Rothenburg ob der Tauber was quite charming. I felt like this tour gave us plenty of time in each location, and while I enjoyed the tour of the castle it was nice to have time on our own in the town. There is so much to explore and cute stores for shopping. I would definitely recommend this tour as this area of Germany is very quaint and worth seeing.
Well worth it. Our tour guide Nancy was very informative and polite. The tour guide at Harburg Castle was also very informative. Rothenburg was just beautiful and well preserved. There is plenty to see and do and the three hours went by very quickly. What an enjoyable day!
Great day. The whole of Rothenburg was taken back to the Middle Ages with people dresses up in period costume and showed everyone who life was back then. Very interesting day!
I loved experiencing the history of early Germany. It is well-preserved in the buildings of this historical city.
This tour was a great day out. The tour was well organised. It was a lovely drive north from Munich along the Romantic Road, through picturesque villages with architecture dating back many centuries. Our stop at Harburg to view the Palace/Fortress built to protect the King from his enemies was ever so interesting, and the history well explained. The highlight for me was the beautiful Rothenburg. It was magical and belonged on a Christmas card. It was a 10.5 hour trip but well worth it. I would highly recommend this tour.
Well worth the trip. Easy to navigate a most picturesque town. Do not miss this gem.
These trip was wonderful, I had a good time at Rothenburg. No matter the weather not good at all at that time but I still enjoy it as much as I expected.
This is a magical place and I am glad I was able to take the tour before this particular tour ended for the season.
It was wonderful. Guide could have been a little more friendly but he kept things going,
Truly a wonderful tour and experience. The medieval castle of Harburg was very enjoyable, however the real highlight of the tour was the beautiful village of Rothenburg. Rothenburg encapsulates everything that epitomises a German storybook village filled with many beautiful buildings, quiet alleyways and traditional shops. But the real highlight of our trip to Rothenburg was visiting the Christmas store and trying not to buy everything in the store. I would also definitely recommend trying the local speciality Rothenburg Schneeball pastry snowball, followed by a brisk walk up the top of the city hall for spectacular views over the town. Truly a wonderful tour, and can't wait to visit again
Excellent tour with a great guide and beautiful scenery! Rothenburg was the highlight of the entire tour - straight out of the pages of a storybook, this town enchanted us with its medieval buildings, cobblestone streets and Christmas shops. If you have time, make sure to climb to the top of the town hall tower as the views are amazing. Overall, a great tour!
Excellent guide, very informative with a lot of very helpful information. Harburg Castle guide was very good. Enjoyed trip very much.
This was a wonderful tour, led by Pieter who was very informative and organized. Harburg Castle was fascinating, particularly the visit to the prison pit and listening to how order was maintained in the town! The visit to the medieval town of Rothenburg was the best 3 hours we spent in Germany. Great outdoor restaurants on the Marktplatz with a view of St Jakob's church and the hourly show in the tower. Lots of souvenir shops plus a fabulous year-round Christmas shop that I could have spent the entire day in. So unique and quaint a village with its walls and towers. Would go again! Worth the money!
