Read what other Viator.com travelers think about the Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Day Tour from Munich. What they loved, what they liked and what they think could be improved, it's all here to help you make the most of your next trip.
Christine the guide was lovely, we set off slightly early at 8.15 and travelled approx 2 hours to Linderhof, we had approx 1 hour there and toured the castle, then we travelled approx another half hour and stopped at Oberamagau for a general look around - about 45 mins, it would have been nice for longer, it's very pretty, then we travelled another approx 45 mins to Neuschwanstein and had about an hour for lunch before our castle tour, plenty of time for that. We travelled up to the castle in the shuttle bus, you can walk or take a horse and carriage. The shuttle seemed best because it stops above the castle and you can then walk downhill plus you get to go on the bridge above the castle for great views! both castles are lovely and the tours are interesting, you cannot take photos or videos, you have to pay the tour guide 21 euros extra though. lunch is not included in the tour. you can buy water or beer on the coach. we got back to the city about 6.30
This tour was excellent, if a bit rushed. The guide was very good, knew his stuff and provided all the information we needed to make the trip valuable to us.
Very well organized tour. Excellent English speaking tour guide. I would have liked the tour to have lasted about 30 minutes longer for time to stop for a drink and pastry during the walk back from the Newschwanstein Castle to the tour bus. I have never been disappointed with a tour that I scheduled through Viatour.
Great Trip with great tour leader Ursula made it a greet and memorable occasion
We enjoyed te tour alot!!! Was amazing to see and our guide Tina was very helpfull. The only thing we missed is that you still have to pay the extra €21 per person for the castle entrance fee to the guide, but for what you se I would actually pay more! Bavaria is beautifull!!!!
This is a must see! They bus was beautiful and the guide was very interesting and informed.
Really good trip. They had a english speaking bus so that was nice. Very informative, the guide on the ride home came up to everyone on the bus and answered individual questions. The day was beautiful and the surrounding area is awesome. Great pictures.
The tour was great and our lady tour guide was charming -- even though she struggled a bit with her English. My wife and I only regretted that we did not have enough time at Neuschwanstein Castle to walk to the nearby bridge for photo opportunities.
Excellent for the money. Very organized, very on time. Wish to have a little more time at Neuschwanstein
Castle because of the 35 min uphill climbing and 35 min very steep downhill walking, plus 200 plus staircase inside of the castle. It was very rushed and very physically challenged trip for people like us over 60 . But
The trip was well worth it. Very beautiful castles.
Tours are a great way to meet people, learn the inside stories, all without the stress-load of organising yourself. A jammed back day, but with the time to relax on the bus under the guidance of both our guide and also the bus driver.
A great value. Our guide was very good and knowledgeable and when I saw the huge long line waiting to buy tickets I was thankful that we weren't in it! Loved the air-conditioned comfortable buses during the heatwave.
Love this trip!!! Great destinations!!! Great transportation!!! Very funny and knowledgeable guide Markus. We highly recommend this tour!!!
