The trip was very nice. I felt it was a good amount of time to walk around Salzburg. Everything was good. Although I do think our guide should have said 'goodbye and thank you' to us at the end of the tour. We got off the train and never saw her again. She just walked off.

This was my first time in Salzburg, and I will definitely go back again.

Had a good time, but not a lot of time to get a good thorough visit in. My mate and I just spent our free time grabbing lunch and shopping. There's only two or three sound of music sights, but a nice day trip if you've run out of things to do in Munich.

Beautiful scenery, even in the snow.

It was a fun trip. Best way to an overview of the city in one day.

I recently took my partner on the 1 day Salzburg City of Music day trip from Munich for his birthday. The trip was well organised and included travel to and from Munich and a 1 hour walking tour around the city. You are then left with a few hours to explore the city at your leisure.
If you are looking for a Sound of Music tour this isn't it - whilst the tour guide is quite knowledgeable and will point out a couple of Sound of Music sites here and there, it is by no means a sound of music tour. If this is what you are after, then you will have to make your own way to Salzburg and take the official Sound of Music tour which will take you out into the hills and to many of the sites. However if you just want to take a day trip to the city of Salzburg then I can recommend this one as being as good as any.
Tours are always the best route when your on limited time. You can see all of the main points of interest. We had plenty of time to do everything we wanted on this tour and the guide was very good.

The guide was great! I could have had more Sound of Music locations like a trip to the gazebo and the tree lined avenue but otherwise it was a wonderful day!

Nice package of transportation and city overview, but you only have 3 hours.

The guide got us to Salzburg, showed us a few things and then left us on our own. I would have preferred the Sound of Music tour.

Would have enjoyed a bit more guided tour and history. The free time was nice, but we aren't shoppers and didn't feel that we had time to tour what we wanted to tour. Would plan to spend a couple days the next time.

It was a nice day trip. Salzburg was a cool little city.

I was very disappointed with our "tour". The tour was delayed by one hour due to construction on the tracks. We were not reimbursed for this hour neither was the tour extended to compensate for this hour. Our guide was friendly but we expected to see more of the city. We were given a quick walk through of the city and then were on our own for two hours. We really didn't have enough time to do much of anything before we had to head back to our meeting place. I would like to see Salzburg again but will take a train from Munich to Salzburg on my own which is very easy and see the town at my leisure.

We were very disappointed in this trip. We did not leave Munich on time, were to leave at 915 and did not leave until 945. When we got to Salzburg, we were really rushed. We did not get to spend time in the gardens, because the tour guide was late getting to work and we paid the price. I guess the tour would have been better if we had left on time.

I expected to see more of the city. The trip had a nice price, but it was not well organised.
