This is one of the rooms on the audio tour of the Salzburg fortress. We highly recommend this tour, as it affords the best view of all of Salzburg from the tallest tower of the fortress. Simply breathtaking, and the highlight of our entire trip to Europe!

View of the Fortress - you can take an elevator, tram, or walk all the way to the top. There is an audio tour that takes you through the fortress when you get up there. Well worth the trip for the amazing view!

The fortress is in the background. The gate in the foreground was used in a scene from "The Sound of Music". Colorful pansies had been planted for spring in beautiful patterns in the garden.
