Skeleton Coast, Brandberg and Ugab Scenic Flight

A scenic flight is one of the best ways to quickly experience large regions of the majestic expanse that is the Namib terrain. While undertaking one of these flying safaris, you will have the benefit of well trained, knowledgeable pilots. Although not qualified tour guides, your pilot will point out interesting features in the landscape or provide relevant information about the natural environment.

During this flight your pilot will highlight the more impressive features along the famous Skeleton Coast, where the desert meets the sea, named so for the bleached whale and seal bones which covered the shore when the whaling industry was still active, as well as the skeletal shipwrecks caused by rocks offshore in the fog.

During the flight you will also experience the coast north of Swakopmund, Namibia, and take an excursion inland toward Namibia's highest mountain, the Brandberg, home of the White Lady rock painting. Rising out of the desert, the Brandberg is the highest mountain in Namibia with an elevation at the highest peak (Königstein) of about 8256 feet (2580 meters) and a diameter of 25-30 km.

Also during this flight you will see the Ugab River bed, Cape Cross, the salt pans as well as Hienties Bay before returning to Swakopmund. Total flight time is 2.2 hours.
