Useful Information
Capri, Italy
On arrival at the Port of Capri, a transfer by minibus takes you to Anacapri. You'll have free time to visit Villa San Michele, the home of Swedish doctor and writer Axel Munthe that is located on the northeastern side of Anacapri. You'll also travel to the top of Monte Solare by chairlift before returning to Capri for lunch. In the early afternoon, take a walk to the Gardens of Augustus.
In the early afternoon, take a walk to Augustus' gardens and, time permitting, enjoy an optional visit of the Blue Grotto (additional cost) before returning to Naples.
During your free time, you have the chance to see the Blue Grotto if you wish (additional cost). A visit inside the Blue Grotto is not part of this shore excursion, but you have the option to take a boat ride to it. Only small boats can actually fit inside the grotto, and this is not guaranteed – going inside is dependent on current sea conditions and the size of the crowd, both of which may prevent your boat from getting in. Be aware that if you choose to take the optional boat trip to the Blue Grotto, you may only be able to pass outside.

This was a very enjoyable day. The scenery was spectacular, and I recommend the chairlift ride for fabulous views. We were able to go out to the Blue Grotto which was well worth it, but the extra cost was not 9-10 euros, but 13.50 pp to get out to the cave, then 12.50 euros pp to go inside the cave, so make sure you have enough cash. I travelled with my teenage son and we both thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

Very, very nice, despite the fact that we started out in a pouring rain and thunderstorm. It cleared, we were able to shop, see the island, and go for the boat ride around the island.
