Worth the money and do both famous attractions in a day, the tour of Pompeii was ideal within 2 hours of the allocated time and the tour guide was very well versed with all the sights and sounds. Vesuvius was largely DIY but the bus does takes you to the entrance and the ticket fees is inclusive so saves you the hassle. Quite recommended when in Naples. Dont forget to wear proper shoes and clothing since it gets very hectic and the heat up on the Vesuvius.
You will not be disappointed with Elisa's tour of Pompeii! She brought the ancient site to life in story with fantastically accessible humour. We compared notes with other language groups and they said that all they could hear was us laughing. She managed the group exceedingly well, while you were not made to feel like a number. A very slick and genuine tour. Elisa should be an attraction of Pompeii, she is really that good!
An excellently planned tour. Due to airport strikes we had to reschedule at the last minute, and bring our luggage on the tour. Throughout it, the company was very accommodating. Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and entertaining, and we had a wonderful day!
Both of our tour guides through Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius were excellent. I would definitely recommend this tour to other guests.
My tour guide was very knowledgable and the trip was great! Be sure to pack water for Mt. Vesuvius. They provide pizza midway through the trip, though it is nothing special, don't expect amazing food. Other than that, I highly recommend this trip!
This trip was great. We had considered doing Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius by ourselves, but this trip was such good value I'm glad we chose this one. We were picked up straight from our hotel and taken to Pompeii - which obviously already takes out much of the hassle. We went on a Sunday morning around Easter time, and it was rammed. It didn't spoil the experience but timing might be good to think about in advance, if that's not for you. Gino and Manuela were great tour guides - friendly and good fun, they kept everyone together and painted a brilliant picture of what we were seeing - the history and everyday life of the place, made it all really come to life.
The only small thing i would have preferred is some more free time to explore Pompeii.
But saying that, I think a tour guide is almost essential to appreciate all that you're seeing.
We began the day by being picked up at our hotel in Naples in a group of about 7 and headed to Pompeii where we were met by our wonderfully knowledgeable guide, Maria who also had a great sense of humour. We spent around 2 hours being guided around the ruins. What a fascinating experience. Without having a guide, we would not have gained as much insight into the historic content that Pompeii holds. We learnt so much in this short time and found the whole experience fabulous. We then were taken for a lunch of pizza and a drink. From there, we boarded the minivan for our trip to Vesuvius. Just a quick point, there are no toilet facilities at Vesuvius so do use the conveniences when you stop for lunch. There are plenty of refreshment stalls at Vesuvius, make sure you take enough water for your 30 minute climb! We were given an hour and fifteen minutes to climb up and down which was ample time. It was interesting to see the steam coming out of part of the crater. This made us feel that although having been told the volcano is active, this was our proof. It was an unforgettable experience and one we were glad to have been able to enjoy. It was back to the hotel then for a well deserved lie down! All in all, a fantastic day, but not too tiring. There was just enough to do within the time. I would not hesitate in recommending this excursion.
This tour was wonderful. Both sites are worth a visit, and we had an excellent guide for the day, as well as another excellent guide for the tour in Pompeii.
Our guide was Maria and she was amazing, the whole tour was amazing. I have always been a lover of the Pompeii mystery and I learned so much on this tour, and didn't realize how huge the grounds of Pompeii really are. You really could spend two days here exploring! My daughter of ten whom is mature for her age was able to keep up not be bored at all and climb Mt. Vesuvius with no problems, I would recommend shoes with good grip on them and ones you don't mind getting dirty for this trip. Also I am deathly scared of heights like won't even go on a Ferris wheel scared but I was able to make it to the top and look over the railing with no issues. Perhaps due to it amazing heavenly view. This is a must see and do sight for anyone staying in Rome or Naples.
A fantastic tour of Pompeii! Our tour guide Elisa was interactive, fun, passionate about her history and had a great sense of humour! She chatted with all of us, and dived into the history straight away. It was a very fun 3 hours spent. And the tour included a drink and pizza for lunch, before we headed off to Vesuvius.
Just one word of advice - be prepared with comfortable shoes! If you want to hike to see the crater, it is a steep, yet straightforward climb. Make sure you wear sneakers or any other comfy shoes. Stay hydrated too. You will realise that despite the climb, the view is worth it. I'd go with this tour company any time, they're amazing!
Cracking day out - Very informative 3 hours spent at Pompeii - Elisa - Our guide around Pompeii was very knowledgeable and had a cracking sense of humour which made the tour fun! The hike up Vesuvius was great, fantastic views of Naples and the surrounding areas, make sure you have a decent set of walking shoes! Whilst the hike it straight forward you'll need a set of comfy shoes!
We had a fantastic time ! Really pleased that we saw Pompeii the tour guide really made it and was very knowledgeable also great going up Vesuvius.
Everything about this tour was excellent. I was picked up and dropped off from very close to where I was staying, even though it was not an official hotel. The tour guide in Pompeii Sabrina was fantastic, very knowledgeable, very enthusiastic and interesting, and spoke delightful English. The pizza lunch was simple but very good. The drive and then walk up Vesuvius was extraordinary...not an easy walk, though, but well worth all the effort. Overall, this was an excellent experience and I would highly recommend it. Pompeii and Vesuvius can be visited on one's own, but it is so much easier and so much more informative with the tour guides that we had.
We were picked up exactly on time. The trip was well organised according to who had booked a particular trip. The guide who took us around Pompeii was very informative and made sure we saw all of the buildings of interest. Could have done with a bit more time at the top of Vesuvius, but the whole trip was amazing.
The day was very well co-ordinated, no wasted time, lunch was good fun and more than I expected for the price - the biggest pizza in the world! Tour guides were informative and entertaining. They managed to explain detail in all languages and all ages, they were a hoot!
My tour guide for Pompeii was amazing. She was funny, witty, and really knew her stuff. I wouldn't have left Pompeii knowing nearly as much as I did leaving with my tour guide. I HIGHLY recommend this tour. Its worth the money.
The tour was great. we saw everything we wanted to see in Pompeii, had a wonderful guide and a splendid experience of Mount Vesuvius.
We had the best tour guide for Pompeii! I think her name was Elisia. Best tour of our whole trip to Italy. She was so knowledgeable and gave great info on idioms we use today. She also had one person who only spoke Spanish and did a great job explaining to the whole group in English and then in Spanish as we walked to the one person in our group. She was funny, entertaining, professional, quick to adapt. Just the best. Mt. Vesuvius wasn't really a tour. We just got dropped off and hiked up, so they might want to mention that. But it was beautiful up there.
This worked out great, totally worth it. I arrived at 9:45 am at the Naples train station and quickly found the meeting spot for the tour outside Napoli Station for the 10:30 tour. Our driver and guide whisked us away to Pompeii where we had a great tour guide and saw a good chunk of the ruins.
Afterwards we had pizza, pasta and drinks, all included at a nearby establishment.
Then it was a 40 minute drive up the mountain where we were given ample time to hike up to the top and peer into the crater, which is still smoking! And the views from the top are amazing.
Advice: the walk to the top is a bit of a hike, bring a bottle of water and enjoy it. 30 minutes up, 20 minutes down....
A tour very well organized and a fantastic experience for me. I recommend it.
