After being collected from our hotel at the alloted time, the minibus made several pick ups on our way to Pompeii. After arriving and a short rest stop by stalls and a cafe, we met our guides and the group split by language preference. Our guide spoke fluent English and was very knowledgable about where to go and what to say. An excellent tour. We then had lunch at a local restaurant and headed off to Mt Vesuvius. We were left to climb the path and given a deadline to be back. A great experience. The path is fine grained pumice stone, so hard going on the steeper sections, though finely dressed Italian ladies passed us on the way down without breaking a sweat. A 4x4 fiat panda can drive the entire footpath in an emergency. I highly recommend this trip.
this tour was well worth the money. It is definitely an all day event and you need to be in decent shape for all the walking. Make sure to make it to the top of Vesuvius. Amazing view.
very well organized, precise time. well documented guide for Pompei with a lot of details and information. quite enough time to visit Vesuvius up to the last point. and it was a perfect sunny day :)
We did the full day tour, went like clockwork, great fun plenty to see and guide was fantastic, Andreas...Highly recommend as trying to do it yourself would be hard, saw many people wandering around trying to figure it out, not a problem for us...DO IT..
Very informative and tour guide Andrea was able to answer any questions. He made tour interesting and funny.
Trek up Vesuvius was challenging as very steep but worth the effort
Thank you for a great day
Great tour. The guide at Pompeii was patient and knowledgeable.
Great tour. Our guide was very helpful, knowledgeable and entertaining! The pizza in Naples was as good as they say. I hope the bus driver's for that trip up Vesuvius get paid well - they deserve to! That's one nail biting trip. But it was worth it. The experience and the view were amazing. Highly recommend!
GREAT TRIP!! Our tour guide Andre did a fantastic job, very informative. Loved this trip- definitely worth it!
The tour guide was humorous and highly informative in his tour of Pompeii and the hike of Vesuvius. The food was great and the group a ton of fun!!
A1 tour - Pompeii was spectacular
Vesuvius was also very nice - please take a good pair of walking shoes as you need to walk 1 mile on the ash based track all the way up
We had this tour on the 10th of August with a tour guide called Adrea. He was well informed about the history of Pompeii and ancient Rome in general, and was humorous as well.
The shuttle, an air conditioned Mercedes executive van, picked us from the designated location and drove us to Pompeii which wasn't that far. Then we met up with Andrea and started the tour around the ancient city of Pompeii with Andrea giving us information throughout. After a good hour and half we stopped for lunch at a local restaurant. The lunch was pizza and a drink. The pizza was pretty big and tasted good.
After lunch, we proceeded with the same shuttle to Mt. Vesuvius. The road is narrow mountainous one, which you might find intimidating if you are not used to such roads, as for us we were used to them since we come from Lebanon. The shuttle reaches a point on Mt. Vesuvius where it stops and the hike begins. The hike is kind of challenging depending on ones fitness levels, but it is marvelous opportunity to see the bay of Naples from the top and enjoy the scenery.
After we got down, the shuttle took us to the main train station in Napoli signaling the end of the tour.
All in all, our experience with these guys was excellent. The tour was well organized and the guides were well informed. I recommend this tour to others.
I was a little nervous about this trip, as some of the reviews were not so good. The tour company picked us up right on time and we headed to Pompei. The group was pretty large, so that was the biggest problem for us. Lunch was good (pizza) and then we headed for Mt Vesuvius. The road there is long and winding, which was kind of a neat ride. Once there, the time we had to hike to the top and get back down was maybe a little short - we had to keep a pretty good pace going up the dusty gravel path and we left almost as soon as we got down. Make sure you wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and they will get dirty! (I know the thing says "comfortable walking shoes," but this probably needed more than that. Overall, a good trip.
