This was the best thing we could have done. Not only were the places amazing, but our tour guide was great. He was very knowledgeable and knew how to give us the tour to avoid all the other tours going on at the same time. I would recommend this tour to everyone, and my wife and I are so happy that we booked this.

The tour of Pompeii and Mt. Vesuvius was amazing!! I would highly recommend it, but it would have been better to do it as a day trip from a base other than Naples.

We had an excellent guide who was very excited about Italy and its history. He was very knowledgeable about Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii and brought the history to life. This was a very enjoyable day for us.

We had no hotel in Naples because we had come in from Rome that morning. A pickup place was given to us that was very easy to locate. We were picked up by a great driver who, despite traffic jams, got us to Pompeii. The coordination got even better when we met up with the rest of the group and our fantastic guide. He knew the place very well and gave us a good feel for Pompeii without boring the life out of us. I feel it would have been quite a waste of time to walk through the ruins without having some expert advise to figure the place out. After a lovely meal we were whisked of to Vesuvius. Climbing the last bit after lunch was tough! But with the guide encouraging us onwards and forwards, we did it! We wished we could have spent more time at the crater instead of rushing back. Thank you, Viator, for making this ordinary excursion an extraordinary one!

The guide was really good. He was knowledgeable and funny. The tour group was small, 10 people, so it was easy to hear the guide. I would definitely book this again.

We had great service and great guides. We needed a guide to explain things and to ensure we didn't miss the best bits. As Pompeii is so big, the three hours was just not enough to see it all, but it did give us a taste of the place. We will save the rest of Pompeii for our next visit. It would have been a good idea to swap the tours around and do Vesuvius first. The meal at lunch in Pompeii was a great big filling margarita pizza, and the drive up Vesuvius is a bit of a tummy churner because of all the hairpin bends. So we got out feeling a bit queasy.

Excellent! It was a smaller tour. We had 3 couples total, which was nice. Our guide was hilarious and really knew his history. If we had gone to Pompeii on our own, we would have missed out on a lot since there is so many interesting details that you wouldn't notice unless you have a guide. Walking up to the top of Mt Vesuvius is something to write home about. It took 30 minutes of walking up a steep incline. The view from the top was worth it.

Our family of five really enjoyed the trip. Our guide was entertaining, enthusiastic and both passionate and knowledgeable on the history of both sites and Italy. Plus, he kept the children captivated the entire trip.

Pompeii was everything that I expected and more - it is absolutely not to be missed. If I were ever to be here again, I would spend a full day here, with a personal guide. We had a small group, which was great, but we had a deadline so we had to keep moving - even when there were times I would have preferred to spend more time at one spot. However, it was a wonderful experience, and I feel so fortunate to have been there.

The guide was perfect - he had a good sense of humor and he made Pompeii come to life. Vesuvius was a hard slog for the not-so-fit among us, but our guide inspired us to reach the top. Definitely the best of the tours. Thanks for a really good day.

The Italian-speaking driver was very friendly. Our guide spoke excellent English and was friendly and knowledgeable. The trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius was excellent. Our guide asked us exactly what we wanted to see and made sure we had time to do everything we wanted to. Lunch was simple but delicious and only a few minutes walk from the site. We were dropped off directly at our hotel again at the arranged time. I would definitely recommend this trip.

This is a definitely a must see! The magic of Pompeii is still alive as you walk through the cobbled streets and envision the lives of the people that once inhabited the bustling area. Vesuvius is also a great sight. Great history saturates the air - don't miss out.
