Several "Pompeii and ..." tours were combined for the Pompeii portion, with the original bus guide also the Pompeii tour guide. We did not have to worry about finding a guide at Pompeii -- a great relief. For the Amalfi Coast portion, we had a very knowledgable guide. Because it was only a half-day tour, it was essentially a "highlights" view of the Coast which was great if you're planning on coming back another time, or just want to see what it's all about.
Our tour guides were wonderful. We were picked up at our designated hotel online (for Italians!) and after a short delay at another hotel, we were on our way. It appears that the workers were on strike at Pompeii (again) so we visited the coral museum first until the site was open. I had read that we had to buy our tickets separately, but is there a reason for this? We wasted another 1/2 hour waiting in line for tickets so instead of having a 2 hour tour, it was cut down to an hour. Our guide in Pompeii was wonderful but incredibly rushed since we had to get to lunch. Our Viator guides were great in informing us what was going on with the change of plans! Our tour of the Amalfi coast was wonderful also. We had a cloudy day but the sites were breathtaking anyway. Worth the price!
Brilliant, guide in Pompeii was good and knew his way around the ruins. The driver for the Amalfi coast was excellent. Scenery was spectacular and worth the the trip.
My family and I really enjoyed the tour. Very well set up and guides were very professional and spoke excellent English.
The entire trip was breathtaking and hard to put into words. I will say though, everyone was extremely generous and helpful during the entire trip. Pompeii was absolutely an amazing experience. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and made sure we were able to see everything and and could photograph whatever we wanted. We then were greeted at lunch by our driver and explained what/where we needed to and were going to go. He was very knowledgeable and took the time to show us around and made it an effort to stop and show us the area. This is a must. It did last longer than 8 hours, but in my opinion I think it was worth it. There is no way one can go to Italy and not see these amazing areas. Everyone was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English. They even pick you up at your hotel!
Worst: the first bus was a little dingy and our initial guide left us in the factories where they want you to shop. BEST: great tour guide in Pompeii, and even more amazing driver, Ricardo, for the coast drive! Absolutely gorgeous coast! So glad we did this!
Our guide for Pompeii was extremely knowledgeable, and made that tour excellent. The trip to Amalfie was absolutely beautiful.
Amalfi tour guide Pepe excellent, informative and really made our trip.
We had a wonderful time or guide was very outgoing and made our trip a lot of fun lunch was very nice enjoyed the shopping and the drive was beautiful !!!
Excellent tour and knowledge from Ricardo our top guide. Would fully recommend.
The Pompeii Tour is the best tour I have ever been on! Highly recommended. Amalfi Coast was great as well, just that our driver was driving too fast on the mountains for my nerves.
Beautiful weather, very knowledgable tour guides, very easy to work with viator!
This was a great tour. Ricardo is the reason it was. Charming, informative, great driver...we had loads of fun. Recommend this tour to anybody...well worth it!
Pompeii is a unique and very interesting place to visit. It is so much more than mere ruins. Our morning tour provided a glimpse of what life must have been like in 79 AD in the shadow of the ever-present Mt Vesuvius. The concept and quot;stepping stones and quot; in the ancient streets got an all-new meaning, as well as the and quot;fast-food and quot; shops that served hot beverages to theater goers. Also, the very explicit mural and quot;menu and quot; in one of the brothels could just as well have been a few pages from the Kama Sutra. Our two tour guides, namely Jasmin and Suzy (English and Spanish), were very friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
The afternoon half-day trip from Naples to Amalfi along the coastal road (via Sorento and Positano) was absolutely beautiful. This must be one of the most scenic routes one can find anywhere. Our small group (only 5 persons) was treated to frequent stops for photographs, coffee, lemoncello and 20 minutes free time in Amalfi. The driver/guide, Pasquale Ombra, provided an excellent service in English; I can highly recommend him.
Overall, I was picked-up on time from my hotel (Royal Continental) and the tour (morning and afternoon itinerary) provided what was promised plus personal touches from the respective guides. I can highly recommend this tour; it is definitely worth the money.
