Our guides, Lucia and Anna, were very knowledgeable and friendly and spoke English quite well. The tour gave many interesting facts about the ruins and about life in Pompeii and Herculaneum. The bus ride was comfortable, and the mid-day lunch in a large, pleasant restaurant was ample and tasty. If you're visiting in mid-summer, bring sunglasses, umbrella, fan, and plenty of bottled water, because it's HOT and there is little shade.
Breathtaking! To walk streets and to go in to buildings that people were in thousands of years ago is something you just can't comprehend. Guides were great and definitely worth a day trip.
The day was well planned and our guide, Lucia, was extraordinary helpful.
The tour was incredible! Value for money and very informative and interesting. I'm really glad that I booked with Viator.
Pompeii is a trip most people have on their bucket list and it was an amazing trip but many miss out on going to Herculaneum which is a shame as i though it was so much more interesting. Herculaneaum is a smaller area and better preserved due to the circumstances that buried it in the first place and you get the better idea of how it functioned as a town. Brilliant trip, loved it
Great trip and guide, probably the best way to explore these ancient sites. The lunch was vey good too! Watch out for centipedes on the walls!
Our Pompei and Herculaneum day trip was great from the get go. The driver, Mario, was very entertaining. While we were on the way to pick up the other people in the group, he gave us a brief history of Naples and pointed out interesting sites and buildings. He even played Italian music which elevated the ambience of the tour. Our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. Great day trip!
Pompeii is MUCH bigger than I had expected, very interesting to learn their lives. The tour guide was knowledgable and added humour along the way which is always a winner. Herculaneum is smaller but still a must do
The tour was fascinating and the guide was great! It did feel a little rushed at Pompeii, but the place is huge and there is loads to see. Plenty of time to look around Herculaneum afterwards.
Our Pompeiii guide was fantastic. He was extremely knowledgable. It is obviously impossible to see all of the site in half a day but he chose some really interesting parts for us to see. The lunch that we were given in between visits was really nice. They are clearly mass producing to a budget but we really liked it. Pasta followed by the most gorgeous piece of roast beef with salad... lovely! Herculaneum was great. We were left to our own devices there. I'm not sure if this was because we were the only ones doing this bit of the trip, but we actually preferred that. We walked around at a leisurely pace and covered the whole site. I would highly recommend both of these trips.
Great tour of ancient ruins by informative and charming Lucia. She gave great insight to the life of the people of Pompeii and Ercolano. We would go again with her to explore more of these fascinating acheological treasures!

Great tour and enjoyed learning and seeing the history of Pompeii and Herculaneum
Very well organised. Picked up from our hotel on time, Really impressive tour of both sites and very friendly tour guides. Thanks for a great day.
Pompeii was unbelievable. Herculaneum not so much. Could have spent at least 1/2 hour more. Felt rushed.
The tour guide around Pompeii was very knowledgeable and we were able to see quite a lot of the site. Herculaneum is a must to see if you want to see more preserved buildings. It doesn't take as long as Pompeii to go around the whole site. Great that the tour combined both in one day.
Fantastic to have been able to them both and we were taken aback with the sheer size of Pompeii, therefore having a tour guide is an absolute must. We expected to see more artefacts and the plaster bodies/animals but were told that they are in a museum in Naples, we went there and there were plenty of artefacts but no plaster bodies/animals only to be told that they are in a little known museum back in Pompeii. Lunch was good
The drive to Pompeii was great and the guide was very good. Herculaneum was definitely a better preserved place and I actually preferred that to Pompeii.
Both wonderful sites and seeing them sequentially gave a fuller picture. Pompeii very crowded and limitations placed on where could go. Felt group of 30 with 1 guide made progress slower than necessary if they had split the group. Herculannum gave greater access to buildings because the site has already been compromised. Fewer people and greater sense of family life of the time. Wonderful mosaics driver 30 minutes late for pickup which frustrating as would have been happy to spend longer at the site
Good guide, very knowledgable cramped coach to start but then nice mini bus. Pretty horrible lunch but that's what was expected avoid restaurant Vesuvio at all costs. Overall though a good day
Both tours were well organized and very interesting. Being able to compare the impact of the eruption of Vesuvius on the 2 towns was worthwhile. Only minor issue was whilst the tour guide had a very good knowledge of English her Italian accent sometimes made her descriptions difficult to understand.
