It was a great tour. Definitely do this one if you can. I would have liked to spend more time ar Belle Meade. It seemed too short. The history of it all was excellent.
wonderful history and everything was so neat to learn about. All the tour guides were great and spoke clearly and always had smiles and were polite.
This was an excellent tour. Margaret Mitchell did a tremendous job as the author, revealing much about her life in an amusing and well presented performance. We also learnt a lot about the history of Atlanta.
The only suggestion I'd make is that directions to the slightly out of the way pick up point should be given for visitors using public transport as well as those driving. We planned to walk from Five Points Marta but the surrounding area and Broad Street in particular was the only place in Atlanta we felt somewhat uncomfortable - there was a large police presence on foot and in cars and we overheard talk of trouble the previous night. There are probably better routes to get to the pick up point.
Two beautiful, historic antebellum homes and especially loved the Belle Meade Mansion...the stores there were great to find that perfect gift/or memento and the wine tour was lovely! Really enjoyed sitting on a bench under the old magnolia tree, listening to live music while sipping on a glass of chardonnay at the end of the tour.
I loved it. The bus driver was super nice and it was all so interesting!
Very interesting tour. Good to see how they lived back then and interesting facts about the civil war.
The tour was excellent! The tour guide, Steve, provided valuable information and was able to answer all questions.
The travel arrangements were easy and convienent. The bus driver was pleasant and enjoyable. The timing for the tour was just right.
We got to see two fantastic homes that have great tour guides. Learned a lot about the life and families. The bus driver was very informative as he drove us about town. Great tour. I would recommend it to any one.
We enjoyed the tour. Had a very good driver and tour guide and met awesome people who rode the bus with us. We were a large group of 29 and everyone got along and were very helpful to each other.
So rich in history! And a story of such amazing people, people long forgotten! People that should not be!
The grounds are so beautiful and the guides so rich in knowledge and passionate about sharing the real story of the Civil war battle in Franklin!
Great experience! Enjoyed The Hermitage and Belle Meade plantations. Lunch was a delicious southern cooking experience!
Excellent walk about in Nashville- full of interesting and personal stories!! Don't miss this tour!!
Howard tour guide was very very good. The time allotment at every stop was perfect. We enjoyed the tour very much.
Our guide was great. He showed the 30 minute film on The Hermitage on the bus on the way so we were able to spend all our time at The Hermitage touring the grounds and museum. He also gave us pointers about how to best spend our time there. Our only regret is that we didn't know about the wagon ride tour of the grounds until it was too late to catch it. Lunch was good and quick and Belle Meade plantation was also very interesting.
If you are in Nashville, leave the city and see the history! It was beautiful and so well worth every minute!

We love taking in history tours when we travel and the Hermitage and Belle Meade Plantations gave us so much history. Hermitage is about Andrew Jackson our 16th President and Belle Meade is about Billy Jackson no relation to Andrew and about the breeding of thoroughbred horses like Seabiscuit, Secretariat and other Kentucky Derby winners. We stopped and had lunch in between visiting each plantation.
