Lunch in Volendam
We had a quick, light (ok, maybe not so light) lunch of fries with mayo. I have eaten a lot of fries in my 44 years and the Dutch know how to make great ones. Since they are so popular in the Netherlands I got to eat them fairly often during my stay and I never had a bad batch of fries. The mayo was always really creamy and oh so tasty with them.
Skaters at Zaanse Schans Windmill
This was in December when the weather was 30 Fahrenheit. Ideal weather for skaters.
Leaving Volendam
This was taken aboard the ferry which took us to Marken, looking back at Volendam and some sailing ships.
Ferry to Marken
A view past the Ferry Captain. It was a grey, cool day but without rain. The crossing was refreshing up on deck. You could ride below inside if you wished. We returned to Amsterdam by bus which met us in Marken which obviously is accessible by highway as well as this ferry.
