We had a wonderful time, on our Walking and Eating Tour of New Orleans. Our guide Julie was very personable, well informed, and was a pleasure to spend the morning with. Her selection of places to see, and the menu she chose for us was great. This tour is a "Don"t Miss" it will be a highlight of your visit to NOL.
This tour, with all the history and the great food, was way more than we had hoped for. Loved it, would do it again next time we are in N.O.!
It rained on the day of our tour, so we were bummed before it started, but our tour guide called us ahead of time to reassure us that we'd still have a good time, and she told us where we could find a Walgreens to buy an umbrella. Super nice!
We went to four tasting locations -- a small, off-the-beaten path restaurant that we otherwise wouldn't have found; a restaurant called Antoine's, which is one of the oldest in town and has a lot of historical rooms and Mardi Gras memorabilia; the French Market, where we had tastings from three different food shops; and a dessert shop. The tastings were plentiful, and we were pretty full by the end of the tour, so it's perfect for lunch. We had gumbo, muffuletta, pralines, sweet potato biscuits, oysters Rockefeller and gelato. We also stopped by a quirky local cookbook store and a spice and herb shop. Julie (our guide) was very knowledgeable about the city's food scene, and she had lots of fun facts to share. The food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely do this again.
It was amazing!! Right from the start, our guide made us feel like we were all one big family! With this being my first trip to New Orleans, It was a trip to remember! The food was great! Especially the sweet potato biscuit, with the sweet sauce! This is a must for any newcomer or native of New Orleans!
The tour was great. The guide Julia was so knowledgeable not just about food but the history of New Orleans. We learned so much and the food was excellant.
Was totally awesome! Fun, tasty and educational! Would do it again next time and recommending it to everyone who goes there!
Fun tour! This was a fabulous way to sample the local flavors and learn a little history along the way. Our guide Betty, was very friendly and made sure everyone was enjoying themselves during the tour. The portions were generous and we were able to try a lot of great food!
Great tour! Learned a lot and tour guide was great! I would recommend taking this tour at the beginning of your trip so you can get an understanding of the food of the town. The portions were generous and we were able to try a lot of great food!
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!!! I never expected the amount of food that we were given. The sweet potato biscuits (my favorite), the Oysters Rockefeller, mimosas and all the rest of the delicious food were out of this world. We always felt welcome when entering each establishment. Julie, our tour guide, was so informative and knowledgeable of the food industry and local restaurants that we left knowing more than we expected about the New Orleans cuisine. I would recommend this tour to everyone.
Julie is an amazing tour guide! The food was great and her knowledge of NOLA made my experience complete
Julie was the best guide and we started our day off with fresh yummy beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe du Monde. What a great way to taste your way through the French Quarters. Be sure to try the Muffalettas at the French Market.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this experience! It was a great way to tour the French Quarter and get to know our surroundings better before we spent the rest of the week there. Our guide, Julie, was fabulous! She has a background in cooking and took us to enjoy food and drink at some little places that the typical tourist may not be aware of visiting. We got to meet the owners and other staff at many of our stops while learning about some history of New Orleans as well. Cafe du Monde was, of course, one of the 7-8 stops and we left appropriately covered in powdered sugar. This food tour opened our eyes to a whole new way of touring a city and we definitely want to repeat this in other cities we visit-maybe even our own home city of Chicago! Definitely would recommend both the tour and Julie, our guide! Thanks for a really fun day!
This was the best tour we have been on!! Fun fun fun! Julie was a great guide and the food was wonderful.
Food always breaks the ice when getting to know new people. Where else but in New Orleans can you laugh and joke about powered sugar on your face and cloths with people you just met.We did not feel rushed and really took our time and enjoyed all that Julie had planned for us!
