Brian did a fantastic job explaining the history of both the restaurants and cocktails. We really enjoyed our time with him.
Joe Gendusa knows his history! Loved this version of a cocktail tour. The price reflects that you purchase your drinks but that allows you to pick at each place what to try. Joe was great to suggesting which drinks match with your preferences.
We had a blast on the New Orleans Cocktail Walking Tour. Brian was our guide and he was funny and informative. The drinks on the tour are not free, but they are reasonably priced and it worked out fine for us to buy one drink and share it between the two of us at each stop. We learned some history behind how different drinks were invented, as well as the old restaurants and bars in NOLA. It was pleasant and a great way to spend a couple of hours. Nice people on the tour to visit with too.
OMG..... Joe IS NOLA!!! The man is a walking reference to everything and adds his own personal tweeks as you walk! We would never have visited the sites included much less would never know the background that was so appealing!! Joe survived Katrina and shares the city's survival means while enjoying cocktails as only NOLA can provide!!! Tasted some real gems of drinks that we will seek out again thanks to Joe!!! Kudos and thanks to a favorite tour that we will definitely recommend!!
This is the second time I did the tour with Joe and it was a great experience. He is a very knowledgeable guide and has a great personality. Both times we went to the same bars but they were enjoyable anyhow because I had forgot certain things.
We had such a great time, I highly recommend this tour. It was very informative and fun! We had Nancy as our tour guide and she was fantastic!
We had such a great time and would highly recommend this tour. Very informative and fun. Nancy was our tour guide. She was fantastic!
Great way to see the city and learn about the drinks and history. After taking this tour, we went back to a few of the places that we passed along the way.
What a fun tour! Start with a drink at the meeting place on the Mississippi and go from there. Our guide had great stories about the facilities we visited and how these unusual drinks came to be. You'd never learn them any other way! He managed to have the drinks always ready for us when we arrived and we could sip and sit while he told us the history of these ancient restaurants. Had 4 new drinks while on tour - great fun, nice pace. Highly recommended for learning for New Orleans.
Great tour. The tour was very historic , full of interesting info , very pleasant guide and great drinks! We loved it!
Wonderful experience! Our guide, Yvonne, was knowledgeable and entertaining. Kept a nice pace to the experience. Also approachable and accommodating. High value.
This tour was excellent. Better than I expected. We learned not only about fabulous drinks of New Orleans, but a lot of the city's history as well and we got to go inside several interesting restaurants. Our guide, Marcia, was friendly and very informed on all kinds of subjects. Highly recommended.
Our guide Joe was superb. He was an older guy who knew New Orleans inside and out. We stopped at 4 places and had the drink specialties of those places. Joe provided us with so much history of the area, that it all made sense to us as we passed all of the buildings. In fact, we felt very well informed on our other tours, because of all the history Joe gave us. We went with my son, 25, and my daughter, 23, and they really enjoyed it. I would strongly recommend this tour.
highlight of our trip. Took it shortly after getting ogg the plane. Have recommended it to friends who are going
Absolutely the best! Joe was amazing! Learned so much I otherwise don't think I would of ever known! Great fun! Really a fantastic time!!! Thanks JOE!!!
This was one of the highlights of New Orleans. Both my husband and I loved it. Fun history lesson and even better cocktails. Great fun!!
We had a great time. Our guide really new his stuff and it was fun trying the different drinks!
Got into some bars that we may not have visited. We especially liked The Three Sisters. Brian did a great job!

History of the Big Easy in a Cocktail Glass
As a nigh neighbor from Baton Rouge, I started out a bit of a skeptic. THAT went away in a hurry. Out guide, Joe Gendusa, multi-generational Orleanian, former high school English teacher ans scion of the family of po-boy bread bakers swept us right into his love of his home town and it's rich history. Now, I can very easily foresee taking this tour again when hosting more newbies to the city. Had we not 7:30 dinner reservations, we might well still be lingering at our last of 4 stops, the bar at Tujagues's. Our meander through the Quater took us to the Napoleon House, Hermes bar at Antoines and the Court of Two sisters. These are all regular stops, however, whim, season or circumstance may lead Joe to visit any number of other establishments on any day. One nice hing about this tour is that one may order or split as many or a few drinks along the way as one wishes and not necessarily the ones highlighted at that establishment. I wax far too long. however I highly recommend this as a delightful way to while away a big Easy afternoon into evening. Cheers!
Best tour we took in New Orleans. The guide was so passionate about the city and gave us a lot of history behind the historic restaurants and bars we stopped at, including the families that owned them and the stories of the origins of some of NOLA's classic cocktails. As someone who is into history and a relatively light drinker, I really enjoyed the fact that the tour emphasized the history, culture of the people and stories of the French Quarter. We took a few other tours of the city, but this was the one that really stood out as offering the best insights into the city. Highly recommended!
Lots of fun and actually very informative! Brian was a hoot!
