Really enjoyed walking through history of wine and cocktails with awesome bars
Our tour guide Joe knew everything there is to know about New Orleans and the origin of cocktails. It was fantastic and I recommend it to anyone.
This was a wonderful tour guide!! Our guide was Norman and he was excellent!!
We did this tour on our first night in New Orleans and highly recommend this tour. Brian our guide was fantastic! This tour is not just about the cocktails but a fascinating view in to NOL past.
Brian is an excellent guide, very knowledgeable of the history and culture of this city. This my second time on this tour and recommend it highly.
My girlfriend and I had a short list of things we wanted to do as a "scheduled" activity. This was one of them and as a lot of other people have commented we also had a great time. Our guide Sandy was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. Guests get a historical profile of both the bars and their signature cocktails ( which you can either opt to buy or not, completely up to you) that are visited. Great time had by all, so much so that our group went out to dinner afterward all together!
Our tour guide John was phenomenal he had a lot of little tidbits about the city and the restaurants. He took us to places we would not ordinarily see. The drinks were very interesting as well as the history behind them. What a fun way to start our vacation.
Libby was great. Very knowledgeable about the history of New Orleans and cocktails. Was well worth it.
This tour was a lot of fun. Our tour guide I believe was named Brian and he was great! The places he took us had great drinks and I had never tried any of them before. My favorite was the Pimm's Cup. We also saw him later that day and he suggested a great dinner at Coops Place. So much fun!
Very informative, we stopped at great restaurants and bars, several of which we went back to later in our trip to eat. Do this early in your vacation so you can take full advantage!
My girlfriend and I took this trip and this tour as part of our two year anniversary. It was absolutely wonderful! Sandi was a awesome guide and just a cool lady in general. She took us to several of the French Quarter's signature restaurants and their bars and let us pick from a list of drinks that both they and the city itself were known for. I can safely say that I savored my first Sazerac at Broussard's, a city staple since 1920.
This is a must do when you visit !!! We went on the first day and glad we did, that way you can go back to the places later. Joe was a terrific tour guide, he is VERY knowledgeable and interesting. It is fun to try drinks that you normally may not and to learn a little history.
This walking tour was so much fun. Great drinks, people and stories.
Sandi took us to bars that you're not likely to know about, or to go to.
Fun way to spend an afternoon.
Joe was our favorite. The history and love of his city was paramount. I learned so much that finally I had to stop listening--I was over saturated! ha ha Loved the cocktails that were invented in the city as well as the quaint bars he took us to. It is not a pub crawl--it is 100% history and no one better to tell it.
This was the best thing we could of done on our first day so much information!!
Joe was an excellent guide. He grew up in New Orleans and was very knowledgable about the history. I would recommend taking the tour at the beginning of your trip, because he will point out other restaurants and bars that he suggests. He gives you a lot of history that you wouldn't read in a book. The tour company provided us with one cocktail to get us started. We went to several very unique and historical bars. Some of the cocktails we tried were Sazerac, Pimm's Cup, Green Fairy and Mint Julep. At each bar, Joe told us what cocktail(s) it was known for. He usually had 2-3 suggestions for each one. There are 18 different bars on his list, it just depends on what day it is and which bars have private events going on or are closed. I would highly recommend this tour, for the great drinks that I probably would not have tried, and for the history lesson.
Joe Gendusa was a wonderful guide, providing a relaxed and informative tour of the history of the French Quarter and it's residents. The cocktails were delicious, learning their origins added to the enjoyment, but, be warned, they pack a punch! Following the tour we returned to several of the bars/restaurants to sample the dishes recommended by Joe, and we were very glad we did. If you're only in New Orleans for a short time, this should be on the top of your list!
