The Plantation Tour was not what we expected. Quite disappointing with the Plantation Guide. Would have been happy if we just went on the Airboat Ride - now that was an amazing experience! Gator spotting and the opportunity to feed one!
Could not have been better! Even though we got rained on while on the swamp we enjoyed the ride. When we arrived at the swamp tour we went over to the dock to wait on our tour guide and a alligator came swimming down to meet us. The plantation tour was very interesting.
We had an absolutely terrriffic time!! Our guides at both the plantation and the airboat ride were amazing!! Very well informed. Knew alot about the history, plant life and animal life. My guest plans to return woith her husband. Thanks so much.
This tour was the highlight of our gulf coast trip. It exceeded our expectations significantly. Our 12 year old son was hoping to see an alligator during the Airboat Ride. Little did he know he would be directly interacting with them! He fed raw chicken directly to 13 foot long 700 pound alligators and actually caught a baby in a net provided by the boat captain and handled it in the boat before returning it to the swamp. The Plantation Tours were also outstanding providing an excellent experience and learning opportunity.
my favourite tour...absolutely loved it...well put together...and for a small tour operator was spot on with their guests...well done love ya work
Wow, what a beautiful day and a lot of fun! REALLY enjoyed this day out on the water, cruising through the bayou. Scenery was lush and alive. Alligators came right up to the craft and tried to join in the fun...Like the saying goes, "if the gators are snapp'n, you know something's happen'n!! Birds were plentiful...but I'll have to come back if I want to see a Nutria in the wild!
Deshtrahan was a beautiful house and a nice counterpoint to the cruise. Appreciated that there were more out-buildings to explore on this property than on some others. It is truly a gift that these homes have been preserved.
The Airboat Ride was fantastic - out guide was fun and informative. Highly recommend and in fact we did to friends. The Plantation tour part was okay but not great. Our driver, Ginny, was a wealth of knowledge but she spoke so fast and rehearsed that several folks lost interest in listening.
We have gone on several of the swamp tours, at all different times of the year. May is a great time to go to New Orleans. It was just a little humid, no rain and the sites are always interesting-gators and all. We had a larger air boat, and it didn't go quiet as fast as we like, but the guide was great and we enjoyed the company.
Awesome ride, very knowledgeable guide, took us deep into the bayous and caught a 1.5 yoa baby gator and took us within about 3 feet of an 11.5 foot alligator. Would do it again for longer periods of time.
It was a lovely warm sunny day but dress for a windy great ride on the airboat. Both guides as well as the van driver were very informative. We got to see several alligators sunning as well as a well preserved and historic plantation. Two different tours at a good price.
Although it was freezing cold we really enjoyed the tour. Unfortunately the gators had buried themselves in the mud to keep warm so we didn't to see any, but our guide was excellent, really informative and I could have happily listened to his stories all day!
The tour manager was accommodating speaking multiple languages and shared great history during the drive out to the plantation and back. The bayou tour was also informative and and fun. One highlight was the old school pharmacist who was at the plantation. I think he's only there on Fridays so if you can go that day I'd suggest it.
