This tour was great. They were a great company to go with and our tour guide Ginny was exceptional - there was nothing she did not know about the plantations and New Orleans history in general. The plantations themselves were very interesting, well restored and in good condition. The guides for each plantation were also very good, friendly and had excellent subject knowledge. I'd definitely recommend this tour.
oak alley is a beautiful plantation home, well preserved with a knowledgeable tour guide in Anthony. the oak trees are a fantastic setting for the home. laura was also very interesting
Great tour! Everything well planned and organized. We LOVED The Oak Alley Plantation!
Camille was fantastic tour guide and our driver was a former history school teacher. Driver gave much of the fill in history the plantation guide didn't have time for. You will learn more than you can remember, but you will also have a wonderful time in the process
Wonderful tour ! Our driver was so nice and informative. We learned a lot about NOLA history. The plantation tours were very interesting. I would recommend this to othersz
This is why we came to New Orleans - Oak Alley Plantation. But in discovering this tour we also discovered Laura Plantation. I think our guides name was John (sorry if I got that wrong). He was sensational! His knowledge and commentary kept us interested and entertained all the way from the French Quarter to the Plantations and back. I learned a lot. The two plantations are completely different experiences too which is great. One is quintessentially creole and the historical content is superb. The other, visually stunning - no other words. This is a tour that should not be missed. The tour company is highly recommended by me.
great tour. Our tour guide, Madeline, was very knowledgeable. the Laura plantation guide was both knowledeable and entertaining. it would be great if lunch could be included as well.
Laura plantation gets 5 stars wonderful tours, great guides and very interesting. Oak Alley was also nice but a bit of a disappointment after how well versed the guides were at Laura, also the guided tour was quite large the day we went and it was hard to enjoy the tight spaces of the home. Also I felt like it would hav been nice to have extra time at Oak Alley to really walk around and explore. Of course the lack of time is common on group tours. Our Driver was WONDERFUL!!!!
Fantastic tour! So appreciated this insight into life on plantations and Ellen is wonderful - informative, humorous and so nice. She reminded me of one of my Oxford tutors!
Very worthwhile and informative. Ginnie. our tour guide, was awesome. This is a must do for anyone visiting New Orleans
The Laura Plantation had an amazing tour guide, I believe it was a young man named Stephen. The plantation was colorful and the history was extremely interesting. Oaks Alley has its breath taking land and home!
The tour guide was great! It was worth every dollar! I highly recommend that both plantations, Oak Alley and Laura, be toured together. Just going to one doesn't give you full true perspective. Seeing both is a must!!!!!
These two plantation two words were absolutely awesome! Brian, Laura plantation docent, was exceptional! Okay Alley was gorgeous and so glad it was restored.
Excellent tour! Our guide Kat was amazing. Great if you enjoy history as it was an interesting and informative experience.
The bus ride there was beautiful and the guide was interesting and knowledgable about the area. The two tours were fascinatingly different. A thoroughly enjoyable day.
This was a wonderful tour. I learned so much more about the southern culture and heritage. If you like history of any kind, this is a must do tour!
This is a must. Our driver was knowledgeable, funny, and packed full of cool stories (I can't remember his name - I think Dillon?). The locations were beautiful and the history was so interesting. Both locations are very different but incredible in their own ways. Have a mint julep at Oak Alley!
Loved the tour and Camille at Laura Plantation was the best guide we've ever had, anywhere !
It's about an hours drive from downtown New Orleans
