What You Can Expect

Viator Exclusive: New Orleans Jazz Tour with Concert at Preservation Hall Jazz Club

Musical Legends Park in the French Quarter

Meet your guide at Jax Brewery and slip your Mardi Gras beads over your head as you start your stroll through the historic French Quarter of New Orleans. Walk down Bourbon Street to visit a club that is dedicated to preserving jazz. Here, take a seat and sip a complimentary cocktail as you listen to lively tunes.

Afterward, follow your guide along Bourbon Street, learning how this area evolved into a must-see destination for visitors. Your guide shares stories about the roots of jazz in New Orleans and how the city shaped this classic American musical form.

Stop at Musical Legends Park where you get a VIP seat in the outdoor patio to hear more fantastic music by accomplished jazz musicians. You also get to enjoy your choice of a complimentary cocktail or coffee and beignets. Before you go, be sure to get a fun photo with one of the bronze statues of New Orleans musical royalty that decorate the garden.

Your guided walking tour concludes at nearby Preservation Hall. Say farewell to your guide outside then head indoors to your exclusive second-row VIP seats. Preservation Hall started in 1961 at a time when jazz had lost its popularity; the small local jam sessions attracted so much attention that the venue evolved into a premier showplace for New Orleans jazz. Tonight, you get to enjoy a fantastic 45-minute concert, with both veteran and up-and-coming musicians playing great tunes.

Your night of top-notch music, history, and refreshments — available exclusively with this VIP package — wraps up close to midnight at Preservation Hall.

Jazz Tour, Concert and Dinner Upgrade:

5 star rating: Highly Recommended September 2014

My friend and I took the New Orleans Jazz Tour with Concert at Preservation Jazz Club tour on our recent trip to the city. I walked into the tour knowing nothing about Jazz or its roots, and walked away with a strong appreciation and better knowledge of how this eclectic music genre came to be. Our pre-tour dinner was delicious, I highly recommend the beef brisket, and our tour guide Yvonne was both knowledgeable and enthusiastic. It rained the night of our tour, but that did not detour our guide, we were able to see and do everything listed, and still made it to our concert at Preservation Hall on time. I highly recommend this tour for both Jazz enthusiasts, as well as those like myself who are looking for a delightful way to spend an evening in New Orleans learning about its history and culture.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better August 2014

Preservation Hall was phenomenal - however we cannot work out why it was soooo expensive compared to the rest of the Tours when to book tickets for preservation hall is 45$. Can somebody please get back to us re. the costing. £96.10 EACH is not justified for the evening we had.
