This was definitely worth the extra money! We got to go on the boat first so no standing and waiting in the very long que, had our own reserved table on the deck. Had a great informative tour by the Captain and were able to take a tour of the inner workings. At dinner, we were seated first and allowed to be the first in line for the buffet. We also received a nice swag bag at the end. I only wish we were also escorted off the boat first...that would have made it perfect!
Loved this ! We were treated like royalty. The meal was wonderful and we had special seats inside and outside the boat. We got a private tour of the steamboat and it was very nice. I believe our tour guide was Veronica and she was so kind as well as the captain. When we departed we received a free gift bag with a CD of jazz music, wine glasses, ink pens, and a picture of me and my husband on the steamboat. It was one of our favorite things we did in New Orleans - it was also our first trip to New Orleans. The night cruise was beautiful.
This was AMAZING!! Yvonne, our host, was FABULOUS!! We had reserved seating outside to hear the wonderful jazz band and a table right by the buffet! The food was soooooo good! Then we went back to our table outside to enjoy our cocktails and listen to more music! The tour of the boat was fun and informative. At the end of the night, we got a goodie bag filled with delightful treats! I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting New Orleans for the first time! I would definitely do it again! :
This was an awesome experience from beginning to end. Our hostess for the evening set up a private reserved table for us on deck so we had unobstructed views. The private tour with the captain was excellent, we were able to learn a lot about the history of the boat and how it operates. During the meal time, we had a reserved table at the front dinning room in front of the paddle wheel with awesome views. Our hostess was attentive anticipating what we may want before we knew to ask. She brought us beverages throughout the night so we never had to stand in line. The roast beef, spinach and the bread pudding were awesome. I prefer my beef medium well, and my server was gracious to see to it, that I received end cuts. I do not eat shrimp so instead of shrimp cocktail, the chef created a delicious appetizer of cheese and walnuts in a leaf. Our hostess was energetic and made our experience wonderful. At the beginning of the cruise the captain gives a great narrative as we passed significant city highlights. The sunset was gorgeous, and the view from the boat of the city lit up were spectacular. The only down side, we had three passes, and only received two CD sets. I would highly recommend this cruise. The unlimited drink pass was well worth the upgrade, whether ordering virgin or alcoholic drinks, they were all included. It was the first event we did to celebrate my sons graduation, it was a great beginning to a weekend full of memories.
This was the best part of our trip to New Orleans! Great food, great service and a wonderful part of American history!
Very enjoyable - the hostess we had was very attentive and made the night really stand out. Highly recommended activity.
If you want to be treated like royalty, take this VIP tour. Yvonne was wonderful and the tour of the ship with the captain was fun and very informative. Dinner was very good and all the special treatment that comes with the VIP package was well worth the money.
To start off a wonderful evening with a glass of champagne along with The personal attention throughout the night, skipping the lines, meeting the captain, learning about the ship and to top it off a great band playing while eating a nice dinner with a complimentary bottle of wine. Wonderful!
I already rated our trip. It was fabulous and definitely a great ride, tour and food. Everyone was so wonderful with food and service.
We did pay a bit more for this dinner cruise, but the VIP experience was well worth it. We skipped the long boarding line and was escorted by a lovely guy named Bruce. he continued to care for us all night. We were given an extra entree, bottomless drinks, a reserved table outside, and a personalised tour of the boat from the captain. Then we were given a Gift pack at the end which was a lovely surprise , it contained some goodies as well as the photo that is taken when boarding. Bruce then escorted us off the boat 1st so that we did I not have to fight the queues getting off the boat. There are about 1200 people on this cruise, but we felt quite special. A lovely experience. Highly recommended.
This was both a fun and interesting cruise. The dinner was very good, as well as the service. We enjoyed the tour of the engine room and learned very interesting facts about the Natchez Steamboat.
Ernie and I took the Viator VIP: Steamboat Natchez Dinner Cruise. The Night that we took the tour, it was raining hard. I thought that the night was going to be a disaster. But I was wrong. We arrived at the pier a little early and was greeted by some of the crew. We were treated like Royalty. They escorted Ernie and I onboard and took us to our reserved table. Then they served us a complimentary glass of bubbly. A short time later our Captain gave us a private tour of the boat which was sensational. I grew up in Anacortes, Washington and lived on the water, but this was something special and I learned a lot about steamboats. It is the only steamboat in New Orleans that is powered totally by steam.
After the tour, the Captain escorted us back to our table for dinner where the dinning staff took good care of us. The main dinner was buffet. I thought that there might be more LA southern types of food, but the food that they did have was superb. The music was good ole Dixieland music and the band was awesome.
If Ernie and I do return to NOLA we will go in the spring or summer and we will be taking this tour again. We have no regrets with this tour.
P.S. Sorry for not having any photo's but I do not have easy access to the photo's to share with you today.
Very much enjoyed the experience. Our host, Jourdan, was excellent. The engine room tour by the Captain was very informative and included a brief excursion onto the crew only area by the paddle wheel. Going in my thought was the VIP tour was a stupid amount of money for the two of us, but I purchased it anyway because I wanted a special experience for personal reasons. Coming away, my wife an I were both very satisfied that we had gotten our money's worth and more.
THIS STEAMBOAT NATCHEZ VIP DINNER CRUISE WAS WELL WORTH THE MONEY. THEY MADE US FEEL THAT WE WERE SO IMPORTANT TO THEM, THE CHAMPAGNE WAS GOOD, THE FOOD WAS GOOD, THEY GAVE US A TOUR OF THE ENGINE ROOM WHICH WAS VERY INTERESTING AND GAVE EVERYONE A GIFT. I WOULD GO ON THIS TOUR AGAIN.
An outstanding event which is a good recommendation for a trip to New Orleans. People are very friendly and helpful and the Service is excellent.
VIP treatment from being met by our personal hostess, Emma, at the wharf and escorted to my table on the deck overlooking the Mississippi River while partaking in my Champagne and special Prawn Cocktail. The private tour of the workings of the steamboat by the Captain was very interesting and as VIPs, we were treated to the first serving at the buffet before any of the other guests were permitted to enter the dining room. Well worth the expense for a special night out cruising along the river
very good all workers and entertainment was first class thank you so much for a memorable trip
we opted for the VIP tour and from the moment we met Leigh we were treated like royalty. A big wow factor especially seeing the paddle up close. A truly memorable time was had. Our hostess was wonderful, friendly helpful and efficient. A big thank you especially to Leigh who understood our English humour. She was just a great lady. Thank you
The VIP element of this trip is well worth the cost! You are really treated like royalty with a private concierge looking after you for the whole evening. The private engine room tour with the captain is interesting and informative. The highlight of my birthday evening was being able to stand right next to the huge paddle wheel! You get champagne on arrival and board the boat without queuing. We also received complimentary drinks with our meal. The bag of goodies that you receive are great too. Could not fault the whole evening, it made a special birthday a truly unforgettable experience.
5 Stars Plus.
Do book the VIP tour.
Worth every cent.
Our private concierge - Jordan early-boarded us special seating on the deck pre-dinner cocktails and appetizer engine room tour.
The Full Monty.
Plus the food as very good and so was the jazz.
My Mom and I had a Fantatic trip on the Steamboat Natchez! We recommend this to anyone who is going to New Orleans!!! It was well worth the for the incredible experience!
We had a wonderful experience. We highly recommend spending the extra money and book the VIP tour. Definitely worth it. Service and amenities were first class.
A five star night on the Natchez. Our party of 3 were the only VIPs on the night, there were a few jealous customers and some made comment about unfairness but hey we had paid for the privilages given!
We were well looked after with reserved table inside and another on the deck close to the jazz band fab entertainment and the food was just amazing. Fabulous Beef and Pork - very tasty along with other choices and side dishes. The bread pudding was heavenly. We booked the early sitting as the ship doesn't move for the first hour. We were fed and on deck by 7 and in time to see the beautiful sunset.
The highlight of the evening was the tour by the captain. We saw all the workings, engines etc and were even taken alongside the huge paddles at the rear - Fabulous!!! The Natches is certainly an impressive ship!
I do have two complaints however, the first is that the instructions from the tour company were not to queue for tickets as the email would do. However, this was not accepted and so I had to queue to swap it for a different ticket. Not a problem. Maybe just receiption staff training lacking a little. The second is that the gifts are advertised as including a CD each which was not honoured at first and only received one CD between my husband and I initially. Our third guest received hers OK. We were told this is because we shouldn't need two in one household so were presented with a 'couples' gift bag. We had wanted 2 CDs though, to keep one in our car and the other at home so we requested a second we had both paid full price. At first we were told this isn't possible. Eventually, our hostess resolved this by phoning the MD to get permission to give us the extra CD which should have been due to us. We were told few people complain but this may be due to the fact the items are in bags so unless you check you don't know.
Overall view - If you want to have an authentic steamboat experience this is the way to go, you'll love it!
