What You Can Expect

2-Day Washington DC, Philadelphia and Amish Country Tour from New York

Liberty Bell, Philadelphia, PA

This multi-day tour from New York City features stops at two of America’s most popular and important cities — Philadelphia and Washington, DC — plus time in the quiet Amish town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Transportation in a luxury coach or van begins at Grand Central Station in New York City.

It’s a little less than two hours to Philadelphia, where the first day of the tour features a drive along Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Elfreth Alley, America's oldest continuously inhabited residential street. Spend some time exploring the city’s historical attractions, like the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, the Betsy Ross House, the Constitution Center, City Hall, the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s famed “Rocky Steps” and more.

From Philadelphia, head south through Delaware and Maryland to Capitol Hill in Washington DC, home of the United States Congress and the largest historic residential neighborhood in the city. Drive past the White House, the United States Capitol and more, then spend time exploring the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the National Air and Space Museum and more. At the end of the day, spend the evening at the Howard Johnson Inn Washington DC North/BW Parkway just outside of Washington.

On the second day of the tour, see the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington County, Virginia, across the Potomac River from Washington. Then make a stop at the United States Mint headquarters to see how money is created. Finally, move away from the hustle of city life to the quiet surroundings of Amish country in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. See how the Amish live and take a ride in a horse-drawn carriage. Browse handmade arts, crafts and other products and experience the simpler life of the Amish people.

The tour concludes with a return trip to Grand Central Station in New York City.

Wow, what a trip. Stephano was wonderful, extremely knowledgeable and funny. Washington was packed as it was Memorial weekend, but he managed to time everything precisely so we got the most benefit of our tour. A huge thank you to Frank our driver also. Awesome team. This trip was worth it.

The whole tour was very well organized. We managed to visit all the attractions in schedule, there were no delays. The tour guide, Stefano, was very nice. He spoke italian for the whole group, and explained everything in enghlish once more just for me and my friend. This is the perfect trip if you have limited time and want to see both cities. Just enough time to visit the most interesting places. The hotel was old and needs a lot of renovation, but its ok for one night. Thanks to the whole team, the experience was really worthed!!!
