well organized and able to accommodate a large number of people properly
Boarding the boats was chaotic and disorganised. Most people left standing on congested queues in 90+ degs. heat with no shade or shelter.
Once boarded we expected a 'river cruise' of sorts but pretty much stayed in the same location for the duration of the event.
Expected to be much closer to the fireworks.
500? people on the boat and only sandwiches for 250! -we were told after the limited choice ran out.
To summarise, it was an expensive, unprofessional disappointment.
It was not good. They showed up late, like hr or so late, and you had to move in front of boat to see most of fireworks!!!! was not please
This tour leaves something to be desired. We waited in excess of 2 hours to board and, while waiting, were told that there was a second and then a third boat, but we would have to wait for the third boat since we had purchased through Viator. In addition, they left almost an hour later than scheduled. They kept sending us from one place to another and then back to the boat. It was obvious that they had overbooked, since the people who purchased through Viator went out on the last boat, and it was completely full to the brim.
The fireworks were great, as they always are, and the trip up the Hudson was quite nice, but the lack of organization at the front end was very disconcerting, especially when it was 98 degrees outside and we waited on a long line in the heat only to be told to go back in the building, that our boat wasn't here yet. They could have announced that while everyone was in the large building instead of having people almost pass out. Very unprofessional.
It was not really a cruise. The boat was stopped for more than an hour without moving. Loading took almost a couple of hours too. It was also too far from the fireworks and people were fighting over the place to sit. I will not book tickets for the next year UNFORTUNATELY. It was not simply what I expected but maybe for some others it was very satisfactory.
Completely unorganized, ran out of food two hours in and when Fireworks started the only people who could see clearly were those at the very front of boat. Captain turned boat once then left boat face forward into fireworks where most could not see well because of the awning on top. The Captain had a great view though and I saw him taking lots of great pictures on his iphone!
I booked this cruise a birthday surprise for my Sister well it was more of a surprise for me !!!
They listed a boarding time of 5:30 pm on a day when it was above 95 degrees we sat waiting to board for 2 hours the last 45 min on a line directly in the sun
we kept asking about boarding time and no one could give a good answer
The cruise was advertised as open bar and meals for purchase on the ship
there was no food only potato chips and skittles
The worse part of the night was the return to the dock we waited in the water for an extra hour before we where allowed to get off
even the fireworks that where set to start at 9 started late I guess it was just a bad night
