Had a good time but felt like it was more French language than English. Wondered what we missed out on.
The trip was a great experience. Ulrich was a terrific guide!! Absolutely competent and friendly. With a warm heart. It was my great wish, to see the marion avenue, and he fulfilled it. And the rest of the tour was sooo beautiful. The wave hills were a surprise for me, the bronx is the greatest borough of New York City. In the next year I'll like to join the "Harlem Gospel Tour" and I hope Ulrich will be the guide again.

This is a great tour to see a different part of New York City. The tour guide was excellent - a very passionate local who had an in-depth knowledge of the sights. The organisation running the tours seemed to us to be more interested in education rather than profit, which made for a much more enjoyable experience. A couple of points to note: on Saturdays the tour is frequently in 2 languages (English and French) on the same bus. Also this is NOT a walking tour, and you will spend most of your time on the bus. Despite the misleading description this was still a very well worthwhile tour and an excellent way to see a different part of the city.
This is not a walking tour unless you count the wheels of the bus as your legs! Nevertheless it's a great experience to visit the part of New York with probably the worst reputation. And now you can see with your own eyes to see what it's all about, and draw your own conclusions. You will probably be surprised. The local guide is a plus.
What an amazing tour guide we had. So funny and informative, made the experience well worth the visit.
We were lucky again to be a small group, 4 speaking English and 4 speaking French. Our guide was fascinating to be with, informative and interesting. Lots to tell us about the area we were visiting but also lots of answers to questions we had about way of life, politics, etc. We had a brilliant few hours, felt we had learnt a lot and having taken the Brooklyn tour yesterday, would love to have had the time to do more of these tours, where you do more than see the major sights.
This is a great value for people who want to see these places in a safe and timely manner. Although you only drive through Harlem, this half-day tour still gives excellent coverage of most parts of the Bronx, including Riverdale and Little Italy.
I enjoyed the tour and our tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. However, I was expecting to do more walking. Really you spend the entire time on the bus except for 20 minutes when you are allowed to walk down a couple streets. I would have preferred to have a few more stops, including Yankee Stadium, to walk around rather than just driving by.
A mostly disappointing tour. The guide spoke mostly in French and very little in English. There were a lot of things shown here that were not of any great cultural/historical significance. You're better off picking a few things like Bronx Zoo or Yankee Stadium and going to see them on your own and at your own pace. On the plus side, the tour did allow you to catch a glimpse of a borough which you may not go to otherwise.
This is the middle-class white person's tour of the Bronx, taken from the bus window. We didn't stop at the zoo or the botanical gardens which are the two major attraction points of the Bronx, in my opinion.
Two words; very disappointing!!!
We had a bus driver turn up to work and had no idea he had been called to do the Bronx, when he found out he wasn't too thrilled. To his credit, he didnt know where he was going and had a tour guide that he clashed with but he powered through and was pretty good. The tour itself doesn't cover much of the Bronx, we saw Yankee Stadium and drove along the main road. Our tour guide took us to their version of Little Italy where we spent most of the tour. I was so bored when we got back on the bus i fell asleep, we saw the Bronx Zoo way off in the distance. The tour was a waste of half day actually!
