I loved going up the Empire State building. It really is one of the things I think of as a 'must-do' experience. I know some people say to go up the Rockefeller Center instead, but to me it wouldn't have been the same. We wanted to go up just before sunset, see it through dusk and then once all the lights were on. We were running late getting there, and we are so glad we bought skip the line passes. That may well be our best investment in NYC. In every stage (and there were many, starting at the queues outside the building itself), we showed our tickets and were immediately escorted past the hordes of people (we think we passed well over 500 people getting to the top). Once up there it was amazing to see. The views were simply stunning from light through to darkness. It was windy, but that just added to the atmosphere. We even watched a thunderstorm over New Jersey. We loved being up there. Then after we had come back down we saw people queuing whom we'd passed on out way up, almost an hour and a half before. So I would strongly recommend the skip the line passes if you're short on time or have a real aversion to standing in queue.
Going up to the observation deck of the Empire State Building, to me is part of the quintessential experience of New York City. I went with my sisters, and each of them thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a terrific view with no haze or cloudiness. We got to see the city at dusk. The whole experience was simply AMAZING.
It's good to know that when I book something on line with an agency, six thousand miles from the attraction, things still go just like clockwork. No queuing, no problems. Well done! Thanks for helping, and at such reasonable prices, too,
It is one of those sites that you have to visit once in New York. Very hard to get a clear day so expect smog conditions through summer. great view of the new freedom tower and statue of liberty in the far right background.
it is quicker to walk the stairs if you are able to from the 80th to the 86th floor. It takes only 3-5 minutes compared to 20 minute wait for the elevator due to the crowds. Expect a crowd. It is very busy up there on the 86th floor.
The 86th floor observatory view was spectacular! I especially liked the audio tour and the personal observations of the Italian-American man speaking.
smooth trasnaction when we got tot he ESB. Whole experience was fantastic. What a view. Will definatley use you guys again!
For this tour there was not much of a tour. We just bought tkts ahead of time and that was a good idea.
We have always had good experiences with Viator.
What a beautiful view and exciting trip. Get there before 10:00 AM or otherwise purchasing the "Skip the line" feature is well worth the cost. There are winding lines around each corner and floor, be patient or spend the extra. Worth the time and cost.
been once before and could honestly say I would never ever get sick of seeing this amazing view!
Thank GOODNESS for the Skip the Line Tickets!!! We thoroughly enjoyed the views from the top of the Empire State Building - we booked the commentary too, which was really useful to get our bearings - and learn some interesting facts about New York as well. But if we hadn't booked the Skip the Line tickets I don't think we would have bothered - the poor people waiting in line must have spent HOURS queuing - honestly, there were literally hundreds of people hardly moving. I know my husband would definitely have lost patience way before we made it to the top! We told all the staff we had the special tickets every time there was a queue (which was the whole way up) and we were immediately whisked to the front of the line, straight into the next available lift - both going up and coming down. Everyone was very polite and we felt like Royalty - I bet the lines of people were SO jealous!! Definitely worth a visit, but only with Skip the Line tickets - thank you so much Viator!
Very good tour but it helped to do the skip the line tickets. We were very glad we did that.
Fabulous! Express pass is the ticket. I purchased the express pass for my visit last year, but was only put ahead of a couple of lines. This time was worth the money I paid...
